What is happiness. There are many theories on this. Is it feeling content and peace within yourself. Is it accepting yourself and all your mistakes and faults. I’m the happiest I’ve ever been. I’m seventy and doing life in a calm acceptance of who I am. Being at peace and not caring about what people think of me. I am at peace in knowing the past seventy years I did the best I could. I know I’m not perfect. I know there have been times I’ve been wrong. I’m human. It’s ok. Just live and find things that excite you. There are things you can do all day long that make you happy. Little things. I have a ritual I do every morning that start my day with peace and deep meaning for my soul. Sets the day up for calm and happiness. Happiness is different things to people. What makes me happy may not make someone else happy. Find your own happiness.

"Whatever I need to know will come to me at exactly the right time" Louise Hay. A couple of days ago one of your Podcast's showed up on my YouTube feed and I watched it, it as the one with Dr Santos, "The Science of well-being, Powerful Happiness Hacks that 5 millions people are using." Then I watched the one with your Beautiful Daughter about breakups, and today was the first day since April 2, 2024 that I have not cried most of the day. I was in a terrible relationship that took me years get out of and it took a huge toll on me. Thank you so much for your incredible manner, and grace and deep thoughtfullness for all of us. I will need much more support, including direct support from my family and friends but what you are doing really, really helped and I will continue to watch your incredible Podcasts! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, Karen F

Okay. First, this podcast went right into my "must watch again" playlist! Second, I could be called "the podcast lady" and I can tell you one thing, my dearest Mel, that is the best podcast I've ever watched! You did it again 🎉❤

@Qmelissa

Outside of all this rich content, which I will have to listen to again and again to use and share, I have a compliment I wanted to share. Actually, three. One, the auditory quality of these two voices was incredibly soothing and easy to digest. I always love Mel's voice, but Dr. Santos was equally compelling. When you have such rhythm and poise, the information just comes alive for me. Second, Mel taking the flat tire on your vehicle analogy to the next metaphorical stage was amazing. Yes, when you don't give yourself the opportunity to be happy (fill up those tires), you don't go anywhere. You are stuck! Brilliant. Third, eliciting a hack of my own for how to share from a space of gratitude. When you recognize something you are thankful for about yourself, ask, "How can I share this with someone right now?" For example, I am so grateful for the view I have from my office window. I overlook a creek that is surrounded by tons of trees and wildlife. When a client comes in, I can point something out I see or just invite them to look out." Lunch is over and I am going to try it in my next session. Thank you both for such a wonderful episode!

This is awesome. Those students are so fortunate to have this auntie on campus with them. Someone who really sees and understands them and cares. 💕

When im trying to be more present I think of what Thick Nat Han said. Don’t wash the dished to eat off wash the dishes to wash the dishes so I say that the whole time im doing it and it brings peace. I did it stacking wood the other day. Instead of saying im stacking wood to build a fire for warmth(which is in the future) I said stack the wood to stack the wood. So much peace and enjoyment that way

Golden tips that I'll personally highlight and focus on in my baby step journey towards "happiness":
Appreciate all the things you have; adopt positive emotions;be happier in life and with life; be grateful and mindful; meditate; serve the others and volunteer; be wealthy in time: profit the most from your time; talk to people and socialize with them; engage in self- compassion/ self-love and kindness and on top of all enjoy the moment" here and now" thanks a bunch dear ladies ❤❤❤❤❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

@BelieveInTheTruth.

It make a great sense me as she's saying happiness in your life and happiness with your life because happiness in your life means someone or something bring you the happiness and happiness with your life means happiness grow within ourselves.

Great lesson. I moved to the UK a number of years ago. One thing I love about it here, is civility among strangers. I have had so many funny brief conversations with strangers at the grocery store, regarding the tea selection or the price of oranges. Always puts a smile on my face. Also, in terms of self care- I love how the airline safety speech states” put your own mask on before helping someone else” . When you care for yourself, you are in a better state to then help someone else. 😊

@pamelajoy67

I am a 58 year old college educated waitress, by choice. I don't make a ton of money, but I LOVE what I do. I talk to strangers all day, every day. My purpose, my mission every day, is to make others' days better and brighter. And I LOVE talking to strangers, in lines, on the street, on transportation. And yeah, I'm generally happier than most. Lucky me.

No matter how many clever happiness hacks you try, if you’re not taking care of your foundation—eating nutrient-rich foods, avoiding harmful substances, and giving your body what it truly needs—then all those shortcuts will fall flat. Real well-being starts with respecting your health, not just stacking up life hacks.

@Anoppinion

Nature, animals, elderly, children, art, music… . Spend time with them and you become more alive❤ real love

@tanyarobinson6121

I couldn't love this more....and came in such a needed time in my life! Newly empty nester and divorced . Generally happy but there are days I have to find it...thank you for this gem❤

@cab26

At 55 I remember a childhood and teenage years without phones. I would like to ban mobile phones and unsupervised internet until 18. Today's young people can't compare life without so we grandparents need to speak up for them. X

@hilarybrightangel325

Love Dr. Santo's voice. For me, so big when you are trying to really understand someone. She is smart, not condescending, not rushed, and comforting. Wish I had more teachers like her. I hope you all find more happy today. ❤

@Maria-d5t5u

the best way to start my mornings at work... listening to my favorite person MEL

@traceygale

I really like how you tapped into the use of our cell phone and the disconnect. I have grandchildren that are attached to their phones and I see them missing out on the little things in life. Interesting take on happiness.

@JoseRamirez-hc2bc

Sounds like Gratitude is the greatest hack for Happiness!!

@tiyacha1021
