Saw Muddy and band at the exit inn nashville late 70s. The band warmed up for amost an hour, blue everyone away, then Muddy comes out sits on his stool twelve feet from. He told his life story thru music for the next hhour and a half.I have never forgotten that concert.

β€œThe blues are the roots and the other musics are the fruits. It's better keeping the roots alive, because it means better fruits from now on. The blues are the roots of all American music. As long as American music survives, so will the blues."
~ Willie Dixon (1915–1992)

I knew Muddy Waters and he was such a great guy. I grew up not knowing he was famous until he passed and wow! I can say my Nick name from Muddy was β€œ little fat so β€œ I ate with him ,etc. Westmont Illinois!!!! ❀️

@KevinSmith-mh5oq

If any Muddy fans ever get an opportunity to go to the Delta Blues Museum in Clarksdale, MS, it has a big exhibit dedicated to only Mr. Muddy . In fact, his childhood entire log cabin was reassembled and remains in his exhibit area. There’s a life sized statue of him in the cabin that scared the hell outta my wife as she didn’t spot it when walking in. 😊. That museum is so awesome, although Clarksdale is way out in the delta and quite a distance from anywhere.

@tombinaco2

Muddy is the Man 😎

I've seen every one of these players except Muddy....What was i thinking?!!!!! One of my Biggest musical regrets.

@keithjames7843

This is the definition of the blues son No could do it like Muddy Waters and he he had a great band to even before the great Jonny Winters started playing with him But Jonny and Muddy Waters went together like peanut butter and jelly There wouldn’t be any Rockin Roll if it was not for these great blues players from the 1940’s and 50’s But like I said no one could do it like Muddy Waters He was the best to me just because of his lyrics and the sound of his voice

@GEMINDIGO
