Vanessa I think this is really insightful but I do think it's easier to build a personal brand when you already have following. Do you think this would work for beginners too?
The key point to personal brand: Share more of the things you already love and enjoy, and not "some things" to create an image. Of course, sharing things you love will create an image too, but a genuine one. I'm loving you sharing this. Makes me feel we are friends already šøāØ
THIS IS THE ADVICE I'VE BEEN NEEDING!! "Pick a niche, stay in this field, don't be irrelevant to that niche...." it's overwhelming... thank you for this! truly and honestly! It's time to be ME!
Omg Vanessa. This is so spot on. 2 weeks ago, YT has rejected my monetization application because of reused contents in my Shorts and Long Form Videos. I pivoted and talk about myself and interest. Being myself more than ever. I did a lot of Live videos. To my suprise, omg my views and watched hours sky rocketed. Yes, you are right, niching down is really outdated. I striped down to the simple plain me in the video. Nothing fancy, no video effects, no editing, no voice over, no studio shooting. Just plain simple.
I've had a hard time picking a niche as I'm the kind of person that likes so many different things. My life is crazy and I'm kind of all over the place. You are the second creator that has said not to pick a niche. Thank you for your videos.
Absolutely agree! š A personal brand goes so much deeper than just social media metricsāit builds trust, credibility, and long-term connections
Fantastic advice! šAs an executive wellness & performance consultant, I definitely donāt want to be stuck to one tiny niche, like covering only weight loss⦠or focusing only on efficiency & productivity. I love it all, the mindset & psychology, nutrition, finance & peak performance, lifestyle & creativity, journaling & so much more. My personal set of passions adds a fresh perspective & makes my channel (& business) unique. Appreciate your ideas & feel inspired to implement them! ā¤ļø
Funny you brought this up because I tweeted these thoughts yesterday: Remember, the world doesn't care about all of the vast elements of who you are; the world ( marketplace / social space ) just wants what it wants from you: It would prefer that you be a mountain that gets sanded down to a rock, then down to a shiny diamond for public consumption. And then, once the mountainous, and vast evergreens of who you are has been reduced to a rock, that gets cut down to a shiny diamond, eventually, this won't even be enough, and the world will bang it's hammer over and over on top of you just to see if you will break... ( It's better to grow slower and build a community than crash land due to hollow and repetitive engagement. Great video as always Vanessa!!! :) )
The whole ānicheā thing never made sense to me and Iām so glad to hear you say this! š¦
True! When I look at your old content... I perceived you as every other content "expert" to whom I would subscribe for tips only. But now I have a TOTALLY different perspective of you... you now feel as a real HUMAN... with whom I can connect & bond with. And even though I'm a beginner in my career... I still absolutely relate to your mindset of exploring life with calmness... not chase success and money. Cuz then you're gonna end up having sleepless nights... bcuz you feel everyone else is going much faster than you and you're not enough (I totally relate to it!)
One of the key ways to stand out in the creator economy is to build a Personal Brand that people can vibe with and invest in by being true to yourself. Thank you so much for the valuable insights you shared in this video.
I totally get you! That's why I make videos about mindset shifts to achieve financial freedom rather than sticking strictly to financial topics. I donāt want to be boxed into a nicheāI want to evolve with my community and explore new ideas together! Love the direction youāre going in, and by the way, your new haircut is š„!
Vanessa this is so insightful, I had my gaurd up when I first saw your video because I''ve always been the "niche down niche down niche down" marketing nerd but now I understand what I've been missing trying to build a personal brand. i forgot the social part SOCIAL MEDIA. Thank you so much for this reminder. You're right information is just a commodity these days. What can truly make you stand out is you
I am finally seeing some success on social media and have been starting to wonder how I am going to have it last for the long term. Your advice was phenomenal and solidifies what I wanted to do all along - show ME and not just what I know. Thank you for the advice and tips!!! <3
You and your channel have become a major inspiration for me lately. I've been stuck in a cycle of research without actually getting much done in terms of content creation, but the way you're doing it now is brilliant and easy to understand. You convey information really well, and you seem really knowledgeable I'll definitely be sticking around for future videos, I wish I found your channel sooner!
As a new viewer, I just want to say thank you for sharing such detailed and HELPFUL content. I have searched everywhere and it seems people have the same generic content to sell a process I donāt think theyāve actually been through. It is incredibly nice to click on a video that delivers what you say itās going to do. THANK YOU!
I so resonate with this!!! At the back of my mind I always had the thought itās about my values and value to others and 1:38 āmy grandchildren will understand who I was/amāš
I'm just starting my journey and this is the first time that hear something that makes senses to me and allows me to share my whole self and see this going long term ^^
When I first started creating content, introducing myself as "an X"....it was a hard NAH, bih. And I would stop posting bc I could have been struggling and felt like a fake for teaching it. But because my target audience (solopreneur parents) want more calm in their in biz and home, I share more holistic videos. And I just share more of what I do for myself when struggling with their experiences. It's kept me more excited again. You look amazing too ā¤
