Thanks for posting this .. brought back some great memories! I was a USAF C-130 crew member (not a pilot) flying out of Hickam back in 1970's and 80's. I used to enjoy sitting up front during landings and takeoffs enjoying all the beautiful scenery. Mahalo!
I'm only 11 just starting high school when I'm older I want to be a pilot this encourages me to follow my dreams
Awesome. We fly with Mokulele to Molokai and back. Love the people and the flights. Thanks for making my day.
I really like the fact that you talk to your viewers like we know what is going on. I do not fly but I love aviation and follow several of you on youtube. Keep up the great work. By the way I loved that you and the management helped a young pilot get her start. Very nice thing you all did.
When I was in Maui earlier this year we rented a 172 and flew around the island. And let me tell you, Maui airport is insane. It's the busiest airspace I've dealt with (I'm from Seattle, and I regularly deal with SeaTac's class B), with the most ridiculous ATC procedures and requests. They try to sequence you in in between the jets, and that leads to miles-long extensions to crosswind and downwind legs, and even the occasional 360 on short final. I've never seen anything like it anywhere else. I can only imagine what Honolulu's like, based on that experience. :)
My favorite sight coming home to beautiful Hawai’i. Never fails to thrill me ! Mahalo for this delightful video.
I like the way he always says mahalo in his radio communications to the tower and control.
You remind me of a kid I saw an article on in Flying magazine back in the 80's. In each issue there was a one page article on some notable pilot. The article in question had a picture of a young kid flying a Cessna Citation, he had a huge grin on his face. He had been flying from a young age and had done everything he needed for his ATP Certificate including passing his check ride. The only problem was his age. Here was this kid living the dream flying a Citation for a living and just waiting for his birthday to snatch up his ticket and probably get a well deserved job with an airline. Imagine that, young, lots of PIC turbine time and you walk into an airline looking for a job. You're hired kid. I hope he settled for the job that made him the happiest. Good luck to you young man.
Commuter air terminal at Honolulu was torn down about a year after this video was made. Mokulele now goes to another terminal on the Diamond Head end of the main terminal. The commuter terminal area is being converted to a longer extension of the main interisland terminal for Hawaiian Airlines.
That was certainly enjoyable and interesting to watch. I've come and gone from Honolulu Airport over 100 times in my life, I'm sure, but as a passenger I've never seen or experienced it this way.
Great approach, never seen a single prop fly into an international before! Tight turn on to the Short final (4R?) with the triple landing underneath you! Great stuff
So nice I think you have 1 of the Best jobs in the world from Joey in Honolulu , Hawaii , Aloha ...😎
this guy is a true airline aviator the aviator sunglasses say it all!
thanks for putting up these videos...i know how much time it takes and it is much appreciated. safe travels!!!! ALOHA
If the 777 was going around, wouldn't be a dangerous situation with your tracks converging while you were flying above his runway??
simply amazing!!! One of the best aviation videos I've seen on Youtube. Great work!!!!
What a TAXI hassle on rnwy 04. What a nice VID--short and enjoyable to watch
I remember working at Hertz car rentals on Maui and seeing these fly right over everyday, Id watch them on final; you could hear those loud props, that was fun stuff.
Damn that taxi read back lol. Got everything without thinking about it
