This benchmark put Redis in panic mode and forced to change the license. Your videos influence the whole industry, it's insane. I am very proud of you.
Love it! Now complete the migration by switching to a valkey client. Maybe a video on the extras valkey has? The AZ affinity, the different internals data structures, and so on...
Very interesting test! I did not expect Valkey to go ahead so fast. It's first stable release was maybe just a month ago and it already accumulated a lot of improvements. FOSS FTW
Thanks for the benchmarks, Anton. In Redis 8, we improved the performances of the system, but we now have a team investigating your results in order to make sure that we add any needed additional fixes, if any are left. Redis 8 also adds many data structures that are Redis specific. One of which I worked for months non stop, Vector Sets, but also other things like bloom filters. Now all this is back in the open source, with the AGPL license.
I'm happy to use Valkey. Great contributor, great performance. BYE Redis...
It's crazy that valkey is already faster than redis
these benchmark can really assist in technical decisions rather than listening to marketing talks of each company
While I like these benchmark videos, I and I believe others as well miss old tutorial videos. Anyway you are providing great videos . Keep going πͺ
Thanks!
Can you compare with garnet as well?
Many thanks for this video, one days I was thinking... hm... this would be a interesting comparison to validate Valkey's claims. Many thanks again!
Can you compare with Garnet please?
what about dragonfly?
Nice test! Could you please test Dragonfly db with Redis/Valkey? I am considering to use it, but my tests are not that complex as yours :D
Can you create a video to monitor kubernetes nodes cpu ram network bandwidth and disk usage running on eks using grafana AWS provider cloudwatch for that but it sucks
Would be curious how Garnet stacks up with these, it's Microsoft's open source version of Redis. Compatible with most of the standard Redis stuff with redis clients (except LUA iirc)
can we get some nats and nats jetstream vs valkey?
can you compare with Memcached
@AntonPutra have you used the same client for both servers? Which version of go-Redis were you using?
