@CayneTJ

I went to school with Chris Waide. Everyone thought he was creepy then, and when Maxx's sister went missing, the second we found out Chris was one of the last to see her, we all immediately knew who was responsible. Thanks for giving this story exposure EWU. Love Maxx and his family and still think about this every day.

@uncertain_zee

I feel so bad for that brother, he clearly cared so much about his sister and put himself in such a rough place to get justice for her. The part where he starts defending her and realizes he needs the full confession and goes "sorry I'm just throwing a tantrum, keep going" the level of restraint and mental fortitude to be able to catch yourself in that moment is intense.

@StarrySkyRy

I was one of Lea’s friends. Thank you for covering this case! She was a beautiful human! She saved my feet from freezing off in a surprise blizzard one day. Such a beautiful soul. I hope she’s at peace, wherever she is.

@strider5119

The brother kept his composure for a lot longer than most people could have. Takes a lot of strength

@yerro504

What really disgusted me was his two classmates at the end who were defending him on Facebook. Ur “friend” just murdered and potentially raped a girl. IT COULD HAVE BEEN ONE OF YOU INSTEAD if you trusted him enough to go to his house.
Imagine being Lea’s family and seeing someone defend the person who just took away ur precious daughter, sister, cousin, auntie, niece, etc. How horrible.

@MonsieurMoustachio

it's hilarious when chris starts his confession, telling the story about how she threatened him with the knife to buy drugs, Maxx goes "she would not do that you stupid moron stop lying" and then notices he's interrupting the confession and immediately apologizes "sorry of course she attacked you please continue"

@Jordan-rb28

It's hilarious that Maxx's secret audio recording of Chris Waide is 10x better quality than the police/detective interrogation's audio quality.

@arickak.7364

"I could sure use a hug rn" bro I knew you were the "wheres my hug" creep

@Hunnypooh18

I love how even when he got a lawyer, he did the exact opposite of what he told him.

@TimNewton0829

It is unreal that Chris was willing to tell her brother and ex-boyfriend that he killed her. And it’s even more unbelievable that her brother and ex-boyfriend didn’t beat him to a pulp afterward. Incredible restraint.

@SilencedLamb69

I'm glad this guy was caught. I found it funny though about how his mom straight up put him in the most negative light possible when describing him to the detectives. She could have said anyyyything. But she went straight to "yeah he was discharged from the military because he hallucinates. Oh, and he had a crazy porn addiction in highschool and tried to kidnap a girl once". Like damn even his mom thought he was a huge creep lmao.

@rainerader1182

Listening to this killer is unnerving. You can hear his anti social comments, and you can hear his detachment from emotion. I am glad that you showed so many pictures of the victim. She should be the focus

@j2398

Her brother is the real mvp here. He had such awareness to back off when he started to defend his sister. To put himself in that situation and stil have the mental fortitude to stay the plan after he confessed he knew she was dead and get the whole confession. There's allt of people who wouldn't have let it get that far. He did his sister a solid

@beaupeterson188

How her brother and ex were able to talk to him about the murder without attacking him is amazing.

@dilfhunter13

I really admire the way Maxx handled himself during the confession, if my sibling's murderer tried to sell me an obviously fake version of events, trying to make themselves look like the victim, I wouldn't have been able to keep my composure nearly as long as he did

@Stonesarine

"She was overpowering me" 10 minutes later* "so i carried her out in a duffel bag"

@drelezar7745

I normally try to give the benefit of the doubt to parents of killers when they’ve done all they can do… this is NOT one of those cases. Your son tells you about violent fantasies he’s having and even told you he planned on kidnapping and killing someone earlier that night… and you do absolutely nothing. Family love is damning to say the least

@BoxOKittens

I can't imagine how hard it must be to look your sibling's murderer in the face, hear them pulling a bs story about how the victim attacked first, and have to just sit there and act like you're accepting it just on the hope that you can record a confession.

@yahyahyor

Amazing brother. Even going and confronting him.. i cant imagine how he was feeling in that moment knowing he was face to face with his sisters murderer. They were so close. What a beautiful sibling relationship. I hope he will somehow be able to find peace.

@NovaBlueNova

Makes my skin crawl when the killers try to make their victims seem like terrible people in their interrogations.
