@Heavi

Do you love or hate Phil Anselmo?

@tedskullhammer

Anselmo is one of the best metal vocalists to come out of the U.S. When playing live, he and Dime were an unstoppable force.

@ultralyrics1

Phil has more charisma than most front men

@slipknotmfkr3

Phil is a legendary frontman. Nobody can deny that.

@stevsh89

Absolutely shocked that anyone could fall out with Dave Mustaine…..

@jackbutler1955

Phil mastered his craft... Pantera wasn't doing anything that set them apart till they got Phil.. Phil made Pantera heavier than all else

@WhiteManXRP

Dude was untouchable in Pantera, absolutely incredible work

@EvanSJSanders

I met phil anselmo last year 2021 in Indianapolis at days of the dead. He really is such a nice guy. I told him i was a fan we talked bullshitted took a picture with me and we smoked a joint. You can tell hes sti hurt. He wanted to make amends but its hard when your battling demons

@danalarose846

I love Phil after watching an interview where he talked about his addiction and took responsibility for his actions.

@juliusbushiv2904

You can’t blame Phil for a psychopath

@reesebobby1680

I got to meet Phil along with the rest of Down a long time ago when I was 15 years old. The guy was a total sweetheart. Great with the fans, extremely down to earth and loved to talk to everyone. He definitely plays a tough guy/asshole for the media/audience like David Lee Roth used to. But there's no denying he crossed boundaries that cannot be forgotten. He messed up big-time when the Dimebash incident happened. He knows it too, deep down. Racial issues are never to be ignored. Unfortunately his legacy will be one with holes in it. A legacy of amazing songs, great times, incredible power and energy, an undeniably great voice, but also substance abuse, mental health struggles, and unfortunately, racism.

As a ginormous Pantera & Down fan, I can only hope Phil continues to stay sober and healthy, and has the right people around him and has made strides for the better. I can tell as of late he seems more mature and humble. It's awesome to see.

@metalrockguy7833

Cant believe 9/11 somewhat also indirectly lead the downfall of Pantera

@SethHMG

Having met Phil a couple 2-3 times out and about New Orleans (and seeing him hanging out and chatting with people of all colors, shapes, sizes, etc), I am a fan and supporter. On stage, he comes across as having an ego the size of a small planet, but in person, he’s a very down-to-earth guy and doesn’t have any trace of that rockstar BS some musicians have.

He’s arguably the best frontman ever, but if not, he’s certainly in the running.

I can forgive him for saying some dumb shit while under the influence.

@danielsarn3823

I think Phil is a teddybear at heart, his interviews are playful and his stories are bizarrely humorous yet strangely captivating. Regardless of what anybody thinks he is an absolute legend and one of the greatest frontmen ever.

@Bking7string

Got to see them 5 times, best concerts of my life.

@BrandonDeft

The fact the media dosent like him makes me like him.

@johntom23

Phil Anselmo is that type of guy hothead. If you tell him "Phil don't do that" he will do that because you tell him not to. Well... That was before. Phil is 4,5 years sober and his voice is back.

@jamariusjones690

I do agree that Phil did fuck up from the years, including 2016. But Robb isn't perfect either: he used racial and homophobic slurs a couple of times and he acted like he's "special" I'm not saying Phil and Rob are "racist" or " homophobic", they both messed up and I hate how Rob is being virtuous when he did stupid shit as well.

@Stevejoohee

Pantera is one of those rare bands that will drag you in. Like it or not.

@noahsark9962

I don't blame him for this, sure it was stupid but he never thought his words would actually hurt his best friend. I'm sure everyone's said something like this about their best friend at some point, imagine that but being famous.
