I think the ark parasaurolophus is meant to be at least slightly aquatic lore wise. The dossier calls the ark species "parasaurolophus amphibio" and if I remember right one of the sketches shows it in water :3

One way of getting salt is boiling seawater, you should check the cooking pot. Can't help you with the sulphur though.
