You're awesome! Thanks for responding to my comment on this $34,000 fine. No wonder I like your video so much. You actually do respond to comments. You're one of the best videos I've ever subscribed to. Keep it up.
Thank you for clarifying the miss information that has been showing up on YouTube. "Some People" have been confusing the facts. As a retired Wild Forest Fighter after 30 years, I hope they Fine this gentleman to the max, not for "talking to friends", but interfering with the suppression of the Forest Fire. Thank you Sir!!
I really love how you call shit just as you see it, not afraid to even call out a sad ham :)
I'm just here for the Roger beeps.
It is my understanding that he was trying to help direct firefighters to where to drop water on the fires. Lesson learned, let it burn. Don't try to help is my motto. I have all emergency frequencies and NOAA frequencies set to simplex on my radio so I don't accidentally transmit on them. If I just want to listen, I use my Uniden scanner.
To show how truly "sad" many HAM operators are, I was listening (listening) to a 70cm HAM frequency on my GMRS KG 1000G-Plus (thanks to you) in my truck the other day, and these two very sad HAMS were lamenting to each other about the ability of GMRS radios to "receive" frequencies and comms outside of the GMRS range. One of them said, and I paraphrase: "You got these GMRS guys listening to local police, fire, and emergency comms all over the place, and that's only asking for trouble. These GMRS guys have no radio etiquette, skills or training. They should NOT have access to any radio bands outside of GMRS." Jesus, I wish I could've responded to that nimrod, but alas, the KG doesn't TX on HAM...
I'll bet if he'd have fucked off the frequency when he was told the first time NOTHING else would have happened.
Great response! The more I watch your channel the more I like your style! Keep it up!
Appreciate your response to the sad ham equating interfering with emergency operations to talking to a friend.
Love your videos you keep me laughing and thank you for talking your time to show us many things we don’t know. With everything that is going on in California, I pray your safe and also pray for all the ones being affected. Again thank you for helping us. If you need help, I pray we can help you if needed.
The patron saint of health care. Thanks ✌️🙏🇺🇸
Yeah, soon as I saw this on Ham Radio Crash Course channel I was thinking "Oh lord... here we go, idiots are going to point to this" Even though it's obvious the reason the guy got in trouble was for messing with air traffic and fire department operations.... Has nothing to do with broadcasting on wrong channel or GMRS vs Ham License. It's simply a dumbass being a dumbass. This is just as stupid as someone abusing 911 services by calling to cry about a fast food order or something. 🤣
Excellent video, especially with regard to elocution and pronunciation; it's a given that the information therein is spot on.
I can only like once, but if I could I would like more. You are spot on 99.9 percent of the time.
Randy: you are spot on again... Stay safe...
I totally agree with you about this case. ANYONE who gets involved in official business conducted over the air should be held accountable. Peoples lives and property are at stake. This clown had his lively hood hit with 34,000 dollar fine but thats still cheaper than the damage he could have caused by missdirecting critical safety personal and resources. He's lucky no one died or he could be in jail for negligence causing death.. People like him are why laws get passed in the first place.
This is exactly why the FCC exists. Without the FCC and some sort of enforcement, the radio waves would quickly become unusable. That’s also why people need some sort of a licence, in order to learn the basic rules.
How about the FCC issuing the largest fine ever for an unlicensed broadcast station in the Bronx for 2.3 million dollars on October 13th 2023? This is the largest fine for an unlicensed broadcast station to date. To make a long story short. The fine was never paid and the station is still on the air.
People will ignore all facts of a case if they can simply take away the feeling they want from the headline.
