Cloth over paper products, buy less food, reduce phone service, DROP CABLE (did that years ago), buy used manufacture refurbished products. All the things from this list I do. I picked up on using old towels and stuff as napkins. Man that saved me $100s a year right there. I am using an old washcloth right now. Saving money is fun.
I always love the howcast video's! Thxs for making and sharing!
1) I loved this one. I don't buy napkins anymore. I brought rags just for eating. Goto an auto store and they have rags cheap. $100s of a year. I got out of that and cable.
Chuck Palahniuk may not be known as a financial analyst, but he put it rather simply and perfectly: “We buy stuff we don't need, with money we don't have, to impress people we don't like.” Such a stark commentary belies what most people think of money. It only happens because we have this false understanding that we have to do it because the money is “there”. Instead, we should start thinking past the monetary aspect as the best way to handle money is to treat it as if it is not money, but means to get what we need – but not exactly what we want.
A real big expense is packaged meals. Instead, make your food from scratch and then freeze it for the weeks ahead.
Cheers for the bottled water tip im going to use that, along with with the paper saver.
You can also ask grocery stores for expired or otherwise imperfect food, dented cans, etc, usually get a good 50-75% off.

OK, you signed up at the fitness center because you wanted to lose weight and/or get in shape again. If you are like my friend, she has been paying for her fitness center membership for "years" and almost never goes there. They LOVE her! They are making money off her! If you never go to the gym--cancel your membership! Exercise at home, walk, sign up for yoga classes and really go, Weight train at home with soup cans or buy some weights for $50, you will still save money! and you won't have to drive to the gym when you are already tired.
cool, some are useful! thank you!
