@glubtubbuswepple

why send convicts to prison when you can just give them to Marine DI's to deal with 😭

@patbrumph6769

When I was in the Army, I would get out of bed in the morning and kneel down to pray: "Thank you Jesus for not making me a marine." Why anyone would do that to themselves is a mystery. If you are a marine, "Why are you breathing?" is a perfectly reasonable question.

@thescarletandgrey2505

Happened to my cousin in β€˜68. Stole a car right off the lot in a little town we’re from in Georgia. He turned 18 in a jungle in Vietnam. Learned to be an aircraft mechanic after discharge.

@MarkWescom

What a coincidence , my dad also got a special invitation from a judge to be privileged to join the army !!! In the 1950s .

@macdieter23558

"Why are you breathing??" "Oh, just a bad habit!"

@rickysickles1429

Had a buddy in the navy that had the chose. Ether prison or the service he join the navy . He had over 50 counts of cattle rustling. Made the best damn chilli

@marianpazdzioch3099

He probably decided that Bubba is the better option after all

@DocSanders

Lost a lot of motivation when at Penal ton for instance in the 1980's they ruled that you couldn't hit recruits anymore.
Back then, it was just a case of give the DI's their shot at the guy before the NIS showed up and took the creep away in handcuffs. And, after he got out of the Brig, the Bureau would be waiting with a Federal Warrant. And after serving his time there he'd be picked up by whatever jurisdiction it had been for Identity theft Warrant. AND DURING ALL THAT time HE'D BE BUBBA'S BEST GIRL.
There's a million stories in the Big City.
The Funny part is that if he'd got a lawyer, turned himself in he'd probably be out on Probation the next day.

@harveysanchez6993

Well that sucked, getting smoked hard only to be be arrested by military police and discharged/handed over to regular police where jail, trials, and prison time awaits.

@Dylan-qt5nr

A guy in my unit was refused entry because of a previous conviction. The recruiters told him to legally change his name. He changed his name legally and they let him in πŸ˜‚. He wasn't a bad guy either , he just messed up as a teenager. Good recruitment offices will try everything to get a guy in based on his character and not a previous brush with the law.

@JohnRyan-gr8bs

Full Metal Jacket still gives the DIs nightmares
Gomer Pyle was the hero of that movie and his name will live forever von Paris Island

@feynthefallen

Joining the Marines with a stolen identity to avoid a minor sentence for identity theft, just to risk life behind bars for espionage. True genius move.

@stressed4484

I got busted at skool for having the devils weed on me. It was friday so of course i was holding. Af
 Teachers gave me some good student comments and the cops said if I joined the army, they would drop the charges. (the lying rats did not drop them). I told the AF recruiter (he convinced me to go with them instead of the army. Thank god!) About my bust and he said not to tell anyone. 1972 was a fun year. πŸ™‚

@tbleeker7987

I asked a judge once to send me to the military instead of time. I tried to reason that it would be better to be a part of the solution. He said " we don't do that anymore. " To this day i think about how much better i would have become enlisting. Some people need structure to do well and I am one of those people. Also being told i wasn't good enough to serve my country really bothers me. I had been caught stealing. Which i did, and paid my debt. Ive never been able to square that in my head. Now im 43. I am not a victim, i just wanted to help.

@Name111f

It would most definitely be better than sharing a cell with bubba

@ridhwwan

"Escorts" = dragged πŸ˜‚

@ericwheeler9435

I didn't do shit but sign the contract as myself went in and I experienced all of this, i drove a bus from coast to coast. I skied to Alaska ect if you know you know πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Semper Fi

@rachelneckar6083

I do believe that basic training can make or break someone. Everyone i know that went through it came out better for it. ❀

@doom4067

Why would they waste time training him after they knew that he was a fraudulent enlistment?

@ananteshesha5788

Now hes not only sharing a cell with Bubba, but also his behind with Bubba!
