@ManlyBadassHero

Welcome to the Look Within Club how Look Within are ya? note Video is part 1 of a multi part series playlist here https://tinyurl.com/tzr45zkv part 2 here: https://youtu.be/QguYZJwROf8 doublenote I played this whole game a bit ago so any advice or spoilers won't matter lol

@Technodog

For all the horrible things in this game, the slow accumulation of friends in the apartment felt oddly wholesome

@comet3136

I like how oddly hopeful this game feels, despite everything. Showing kindness to people pays off, some of them are willing to help you despite how horrifying they look. Idk like so far this seems like a game about finding companionship in dark times

@LumpyTouch

I've been looking forward to a Manly playthrough of this!
What a treat! I'm so happy I think I'll look outsi

@Survivor_based

Despite being a Lovecraftian horror, I love how Sam is just "Yep, you can come in, oh yeah you can crash out here" and soon enough you ain't lonely anymore! 😂

@AceArtist22

The scenes of the teeth household were written very well in my opinion, the sympathy i feel for the kids is so strong when you take the nice route of hugs and army guys
Sam hugging the kids to reaassure them even though he gets bit is so bittersweet

@crazako

The fact that Manly saw a bold red warning to run the hell away and decided, "Yeah, I'll fight everything in here." is the best part of the video.

@ReplicatorFifth

This is such a good cosmic horror game! A great Lovecraftian themes. I do like the addition of the protagonist being able to show compassion. Somthing always missing in Lovecraft imo was the weight of the human tragedy of what was happening .

@Binarokaro

I like the mechanic where you gain more exp if you take more time to explore before returning home, cause it incentivizes you to take risks for greater reward

@RainIsVibin

This game is phenomenal for a ton of reasons, but I feel like no one has brought up how good the soundtrack is.

@theexpresssystem

The fact that you can save a rat baby, become it's father, lose your arm in the process and become the goddamn Rat King pleases me so much and I am overjoyed by this fact alone.

@Thedorkydonkey

I love the idea that, even in the worst of times when people seem like monsters, we can still make friends.

@SpellCaster1830

The most manly thing to do: Offer your whole arm to save a rat baby when you could have offered your food instead. So manly

@ouch4360

The bit where you get to play with the tooth child before he succumbs completely to the disease is just so...:((( instant favourite for me because of that. Love a bit of tragic humanity in rpgmaker games

@youtubeuniversity3638

Kinda like the vibes of "even in the darkest times you still need others and to be kind".

I can imagine there being a route where Sybil and Lyle both become super bosses and a route where you showing them both kindness keeps them both sane.

Plus, giving Fuzzy to Joel and hugging him (and even partying with him!) and feeding the mask guy give me them vibes do.

Even playing with Joel's little brother Ben, too. When the game had the option before to attack.

Even keeping the rat baby.

This World Is A World Where Kindness Still Works.

A world that is grotesque and painful and horrific and dangerous, but still a world where Kindness. Still. Works.

@guilhermerafaelzimermann4196

Keep in mind:
Time only passes when you explore a new location, and the lady on the second day said it'd been several days since she saw her daughter, so i don't doubt time is severely warped by the presence of the visitor

Also imagine being that shopkeeper, a guy walks in followed by an 8 year old with a mouth from his chest up to his eye sockets, and somehow he's just chill about it

@spiralgodking9877

59:20 Joel essentially gives you pointers for playing with his little brother. That's nice.

@Hikikomori_Zu

I really like those type of horror games where certain characters look really intimidating and aggressive but they are actually helpful and pacifist! And also when you can take the weird little things with you, i always feel bad for not being able to.

@googledoxxdmebruh6283

"This baby dodged my knife"
First time I've ever heard that. Good on you.

@rolandkarimdesucatan5118

It's like Bird Box where you can't look outside, Sweet Home where you turn into a variety of monsters, has Let's Find Larry artstyle with Fear and Hunger gameplay
