@cuongtkong58

I went to school with 3 brothers who were all Trans. Son Tran, Hai Tran, and Duy Tran . . . Tran is a very common Vietnamese surname. So, to answer your question . . . yes, they were all born Trans.

@nouche

hey this one’s not as bad, they don’t keep yelling at each other and speaking at the same time

@makefutur

Kids are not medically transitioning.. they’re social transitioning…

@Nemo12417

The brainscan thing is only a generality, not an absolute. While the mind is a product of the brain, thoughts are not written on your neurons in a language we can understand.

In any case, I suspect that the studies that supposedly show mass detransitions include any type of detransition, including going off hormones because its costly or because detransitioning is the only way you can get a job in your town.

@thegoofycentristkid

Wtf are these bot ahh comments 😭

@wyv3rn1

The problem with the brain scan argument is that the studies regarding brain scans are still in their relative infancy. So, while yes it would be great to get to a point where we could confirm through brain scans, and I'm sure most trans people would be cool with that if we got to that point technologically, fact is we aren't there yet.

@datsko6339

Genuine question: What is "Gender"?
For the amount of discussion about this topic, I don't know why this term is never properly defined. It's literally the most important part of a discussion to make sure we have the same understanding of the words we are using.

@Teamcantcatchfish

Who cares if your an adult and go through the proccess just dont do it to kids.

@Crashchristian

As a kid, I don’t think kids should be able to make decisions that change their whole life trajectory

@Throatzillaaa

13% of people might detransition, the issue is that people assume the reason they do this is because they REGRET their choice to transition. That isn't accurate. It may be accurate in 2% of cases, but usually it's because of societial pressure, lack of funds for medical appointments and hormone treatments, etc. Almost 90 percent of those people who detransition go on to fully transition later. It's more like people have to pause or backtrack their transition in order to appease parents, keep their job, be able to afford the medical care needed, and so on.

@grey8288

The 13% includes trans people who stop HRT. That doesn't make them less trans, it doesn't mean they're detransitioning, but they are included in the statistic.

@assassin-tq4if

It's weird to say that you can objectively see a difference in brain scans, but then not agree that this can be a means for diagnosis.

@Pmc987

How do you do a brain scan to say someone is straight? Bro has kindergarten logic. Maybe we can identify that in a "brain scan" but we can't even do "brain scans" for most things like ADHD at this point in medical technology. I hate these bad faith, at best, arguments.

@StephanieCCCCC

Very dangerous to blindly trust people who profit off your treatment

@lmt1550

This idea that kids are born in the wrong body is a very Gnostic idea.

@tdvwx7400

He's deflecting on the brain scan studies because all of that research is completely inconclusive.

@CynthiaMiller-px9yb

I’ve never met a trans person who did not know he/she was trans from earliest memory. Typically as a toddler, when they became aware of what gender was. Furthermore, not everyone’s sense of gender is strictly binary.

@Jofae

Person 1: "Here's a medically confirmed fact."
Person 2: "It's not true."
Person 1: "Yes it is. I can cite the proof."
Person 2: "No, I won't accept the evidence."

Bruh... is this what it's come to?

@ArakishiTokugawa

About 13% reported detransitioning at some point.
    However, 82.5% of those who detransitioned later re-transitioned.
    Main reasons for detransition: external pressures (family, employment, discrimination), not identity change.

lol 0.13 * (1-0.825) = 0.02275

that study has just 2% people who de-transitioned, not 13%

@jasonwhite6463

Imagine burdening yourself with wanting to "objectively measure" why starngers want to live their lives the way they do.
