"Art is a luxury not a necessity" ate.
Usually I have the client pay half the price after I do the sketch(usually takes 2-5 minutes) with 3 free major changes(pose, clothes) and minor changes (hair, accessories ) I would just jot down and keep note of them in a checklist. But wow your prices are pretty high! Totally worth it cuz your art is beautiful ❤
Can confirm that people will save the money if they want to commission you - I have been saving up to commission my favourite artist since I was 12 years old!!
Just sold my first ever commission to my friend! Its a fully colored, shared bust drawing and i sold it for 45 euros (around 50 usd)! :D
Honestly my problem is mostly not knowing if I’m actually good enough to have people commission me lol
AAAA THIS IS SUCH GOOD TIMING!! I really want to start commissions to help out with my family but i literally have little to no idea how to do/take commissions so you posting this just SAVED me :'D
5 minutes in and i'm already feeling a lot better about posting commissions soon, I never knew how to post them. Do I break it up and offer lineart, flats, and fully rendered pieces? How do I price each individual part of the process? This video just told me I DON'T have to do that. I can have set prices, set "bases" (Busts, portraits, full body), etc. and then adjust prices where it's needed (extra characters, nsfw requests, details, etc.) So nice to see a concise video about this!! Thank you!!
I once did graphite pencil drawing commissions for my classmates in elementary school and I spent 3 hours each on those a got hand cramps for a week from them and I sold them for 5 bucks each
I remember someone saying that you should have more confidence on your art and make sure that you're prices are not too low, because a lot of scams usually have their prices lower compared to the quality of their posts, so people tend to avoid commissioning low price artists.
My friends have been telling me to do commissions for a while but I'm scared of getting scammed or people being displeased with my art. this helped with a lot of questions I had though
Turning 18 soon I've been wanting to actually make real money with my art for so long and this video helped to boost my motivation towards that. Thanks Blue❤
I just finished my commission sheet and got a paypal set up, this is my very first time doing commissions, im a little nervous but mostly excited
I can't wait to try to do art commissions... but I'm waiting to get better at drawing first cause I dont think my art is good enough yet to ask for money. I really hope I'll be able to do it one day ! I love your artstyle btw !! Its so pretty !
I wanted to start but It really made me realize just how inconsistent my art was. So! I’ve been drawing a bit more and becoming more and more consistant. Maybe I’ll get into it over the summer, as its something I really want to do, but I want to make those who commission me happy and satisfied with their purchase.
i just got asked to do an art commission. i reacted like a deer running all wild and confused after hearing a shotgun. this helped me so much! thank u.
i personally use artistree to keep all my commissions in one place, and i use stripe for payments so i dont have to give out my name via paypal :)
As a 35 year old daddy, My current office work isn't enough so I hope I can earn at least a decent amount but I really think I should start small and I'm somewhat confident with my art but I really do miss like 6 years of drawing cuz of work and life, thank you this video help me about thinking of how to start with commissions.
i just want to say thank you. im a high skill artist for 3 years now, but i never were into commissions. now, after your tutorial, i started to feel motivated, and now, a big company commissioned me for their game! thanks to you, for brightening me up.💝
Just so you know, you can set a paypal business account and use your artist name instead of your IRL one but, based on where you live, you might have to file for taxes.
