I like how there wasn‘t a physical conflict or a big showdown in this episode. Just a bunch of characters in a mundane setting trying to deal with their personal struggles. Makes the characters feel more human and realistic and makes this episode more unique.
Literally masking her depression. So straightforward yet so well done.
I like that zooble is getting more screen time and relevance in the series, developing their character more.
Glitch posted Gangle's drawing, where she sketched her, Zooble and Pomni sitting all together. Ragatha is not in the picture anymore. Even if it was quite obvious that she was 'drunk', the things Ragatha said to Gangle stayed with her and had a much more deeper impact in the end. Gangle only drew the ones that she genuinly felt safe and comfortable. EDIT : I also noticed that in the drawing Gangle still has her happy mask on. This may mean that even if she feels safe around Pomni and Zooble, she is not ready yet to reveal herself fully and be emotionally vulnerable in an instant. For me this is more humane and realistic of how relationships with people develop.
I think the truck scene was just a reference to getting Isekaied but the theory of gangle being injured and thrown into the circus as a way to save her is interesting
As someone who wants to create a successful series people will enjoy, there’s nothing more annoying and upsetting then having people tell you that your dreams are unrealistic.
I loved this ep , honestly felt a deep connection to gangle. I loved how she told Jax “it’s a manic episode “ as someone who has bipolar 1 having manic episodes sometimes gives you that burst of energy especially towards emotions. And weirdly enough I had the same reactions from peers as a supervisor from a place I’ve worked before. Often enough people would tell me they liked it better when I reach my quite depressive stage than when I’m manic where I’m screaming on top of my lungs and have such a shift in my mood. Mania can last for a week before it hits to depression (all though not everyone’s mania is the same) I felt I could really see that reflected with gangle
Oh god.The fact that Gangle's body is just a set of ribbons and she might have gotten hit by a car in real life would imply that the ribbons were a stand-in for her body cast in real life.
It's scary how Gangle almost abstracted but luckily Pomni saved her just in time! I'm pretty sure most people said that either Gangle or Kinger would be next to go! 💀 Also Ragitha does seem like her realist self when she was high off that sauce and we wonder if she's genuine or one of those "fake happy" people who only cares because they don't actually wanna deal with it. Can't wait to see an episode focused around her! Also also ove your Jack in the box OC! 🃏
This episode is hella accurate to real retail “coworkers” Ragatha is the one guy who comes to work hung over, high, both, or is just stupid. Jax is the slacker who tries to get out of work as much as possible. Pomni is the person who constantly talks and/or flirts with the customers. Zooble is the one person who actually does any meaningful work. Gangle is of course the manager who’s one bad day away from committing die. Kinger’s the one who “called in sick” but is actually just on vacation.
“If you live your life sad, you never truly know what makes you happy.” - Probably someone at some point
Why people are saying that this series is just a cartoon? This episode just proved that ,,Amazing Digital Circus” is a documentary about Fast Food employees and their mental health.
I feel like the theme of this episode was happiness. We see gangle trying to be happy, more specifically happy with herself, but the problem is that gangle tried to force herself and others to be happy. Toxic and false happiness then healthy and genuine happiness. Gangle realized this in the end and I hope she will try to learn to be genuinely happy with herself.
A few things I noticed and have questions about; - Why Jax have 001 on his car? - Why Gangle end up hit by a truck? Is that, like with Kinger for example, some memorie of hers? - Do characters remember more with every episode? - Does Cain program is staring to brake? - Ragatha gives me vibe of a person who was using her positivity to survive hard situation. Maybe on a ranch? Anyway, thank you for the video, Deep in the Box. As always, lovely review.
Im Bipolar and I've seen myself in Gangle at many points during this episode. Even Pomnis "we're doing this again" made me wince. It's my favorite to date.
I like how Pomni became something of a therapist in the digital circus. It first started with gummygoo when he was having his existential crisis after becoming self-aware. Then, she kind of helped Kinger deal with the loss of his wife and his insanity. In this episode, she tried helping Gangle with her issues. One thing I would like to point out is that everyone She tried to help all had identity issues.
I love how this show can mix comedy and terror in such a fluid way... And them putting clues of their past like Gangle confirms that she was a Manager, and Ragatha while """drunk""" enumerating things about her past like dance classes and she missing her horses
I relate to Gangle a lot because of my experience working in shipping and receiving in a grocery store. I acted like I enjoyed it and genuinely believe I did but it was absolutely destroying me. I was completely miserable.
I feel some aspects of Gangle reflect the younger generation. People who had a rough day at school just let it out at home, or somewhere quiet, because they don't want to make a scene in front of anybody. People vent out their frustrations in many ways, drawing, destroying objects, eating, and more. Some people have aspects of them that make them control freaks, and they work to an important goal. Younger people sometimes think their dream isn't good enough for the future, and that leads to a job they don't desire. I'm not sure if I missed any, and leave a reply so I will know.
