Steps! - Start with a number 4 in open/long position (13mm) and move the clippers in a straight upward motion around the head making a straight line that starts by the 'widows peak' point (not sure how else to describe it :] ) - Use a comb and a scissors to blend the hair on top into the number 4 length hair. The scissors should be above the comb. - Take a number 2 guard in closed/short position (6mm) and go all around making a straight line that is not as high as the previous line (up to the top of the temples roughly). - To get rid of the line you just made take a number 3 guard in closed/short position (10mm) to fade between the 4 and the 2. - Take the number 2 guard in the open/long position and go along the line again to finish blending. - Take the number 1 in the open/long position (3mm) and trim the sideburns and extra neck hair. - To shape up the cut start at the sides and shave a clean line, then do the bottom. - If the hair on top is too long trim it with a scissors by lifting up sections and trimming about half an inch at a time. Hope this is helpful! It also helped me to write this :D
God help me, I’m about to do my husbands hair. I even drew up a contract for him to sign that I am not held accountable for any dissatisfaction as this video is all the training I have.
I’m a cosmetologist and I have to say...I am quite impressed. She did it better than a lot of people who are currently working in salons lol 👍 great job
I love when I hear a man refer to his "amazing wife" when just saying "wife" would do. It builds up a marriage and encourages the rest of us to see the best in our partners.
Watched about 6-7 tutorial videos before cutting my husband's hair. This is the best one! So easy to follow! I paused it watched it the whole time when I was doing my husband's hair. It turned out great!! It looks like a cut done by a professional. My husband was scared at first and now very happy that he let me do it. I'm so proud of myself :)))) Thank you for teaching me!!! Now my husband wants me to cut his hair every time. haha, we'll save some money. I like it too. It's fun for me:)
My fiance and I have an engagement photoshoot tomorrow and his hair is awful (and obviously all barbershops are currently closed). y'all please pray for me to not destroy this man's hair tonight 🙏 Update: the deed is done and looks actually really good! Thanks so much for the helpful tutorial.
Just wanted to say thanks for posting. I watched a couple of hair cutting tutorials, and this was the most helpful. It gave the most detailed instructions while fast-forwarding (not skipping) the cutting parts. Plus the fact that your lovely wife was a beginner too helped give me hope while I mustered up the courage to cut my husband's hair for the first time.
I’ve been begging my husband to let me cut his hair for years and he finally let me tonight because he was out of options. 😂 I followed this video exactly and it turned out great!! I even put a hard part because he wanted it. We both think it might be one of his best haircuts somehow. Thank you!
I have to cut my boyfriends hair bc of quarantine tonight so wish me luck ! The way you talk about your wife is so cute thank you for a simple and well explained video!!

You should give your wife a big HUG - she did a great job! 👍
My wife done my head today. I can say I'm impressed. The guide is more simple for amateurs then the others which You can find on YouTube. Specially the one when You have to do 2-4 lines. She done great and I'm very happy with result. Thanks for this Video

I watched this and then cut my husband’s hair today! It was easy and came out great! I kept telling myself, “keep the upward movement parallel to the wall!” I used the scissors on top to even it out and it looks great! Thanks!
who watching this because of Quarantine?
Your vids are my favorite for men’s grooming/hair cutting. Easy to follow and straight to the point. Glad to see new vids from your channel.
She did a great job indeed. I am waiting for my hairclipper to be delivered and then I'll cut my father's hair... Thanks for the tips!
That is great that you were able to walk your wife through cutting your hair. My husband is the family barber and stylist and he has has told me that giving my teen boys their haircuts is definitely more complex than trimming my long hair. What is great about your tutorial is that you detailed that you can adjust the length by using different attachments on the clippers. My younger son and older son want theirs different, my younger son likes his shorter, 3/4” (#6) on top and shorter on the sides, while my older son wants his a couple inches long on top. My husband used to do scissor over the comb cutting for the longer hair on top and blending, but being my boys have such thick hair, he has been using the clippers without an attachment over the comb to blend and cut the longer hair on top. He has given each of my boys over a hundred haircuts and he has perfected his technique. I think your wife did an excellent job for her first attempt. Kudos to her for her handiwork, and tonyoufor such a great tutorial.
I’ve been cutting my boyfriend’s hair since Covid using this video every time and I finally just need to say THANK YOU. It’s been so helpful and I’ve gotten better with each haircut!
