@iammichaeldavis

As someone who played the original version of this game as a little kid in 1993, I can not put in to words how surreal it is to watch this video essay today in 2025. Thank you so much for making this and sharing it

@AaronPICAR

Link’s Awakening is an underrated masterpiece and the greatest handheld game of all time ever.
Also Marin is Zelda. I remember reading in the manual when it came out that Marin bears an uncanny resemblance to Princess Zelda so much so he mistakes Marin for Zelda when he awakens in her house.

@JManFilm

Man, I really want to play Links Awakening now. Really good video dude!

@Shaifrix

Incredible video! Link's Awkaening is a great game, I love the analogy you made with it.

@matthewmoore6346

Amazing video, it gave me a much needed reality check and a wake up call, keep up the great work man

@Jackbonenate

didnt think id be crying on a thursday night but i appreciate the message

@jackatk

When I clicked, I wasn’t expecting so much wisdom and philosophy packed into a four minute video, but here I am

Beautiful video! I know I’ll be thinking about it for a long time. Thank you! 🙏

@WordsInVain

Life is what you make it. Comfort is only your enemy if your circumstance is unsustainable...

@Tare_Tare

Thank you for this, I’m passing through hard times, this helped a lot

@starsidgaming

This is such a great video and a beautiful message❤ I haven't played Link's Awakening, but I have been thinking back on my past for a while now-especially the good times where I enjoyed being alive. I have felt such longing and deep sadness thinking back, wishing that I could go back to enjoy it again. But your message here gives me hope for the rest of my life, for today, tomorrow and the future. For the longest time I have been more focused on survival, on being safe, staying in the comfort zone. But this gives me a much needed nudge in the right direction, to try. Thank you!❤

@JohnPaul-pw7hp

This was a great video! Such a good message! I’m so happy this came on my feed!

@JiberishMCUTUBE

this was wonderful, both your appreciation for a story that means a lot to you and your encouraging message

@ThePileatedSnagret.

Amazing video man you deserve more likes fr fr!!

@Majikn

"Keep your sharp"? lol. sorry.

Anyway... what an amazing video! You also expressed in four minutes what it might have taken some people 10-30 minutes. And as much as I love Link's Awakening I really never thought of it this way.

I always thought the music in the credits was just a fun little energetic tune, but it's more than that, isn't it? Suddenly it's thematically appropriate that it's so adventurous. It's saying you finished this adventure, now put it away and go have a real one.

@zerozoidHD

Thanks for making this video, I hope I leave the dream soon enough

@ohmygardner

Oh damn, didn't expect this to hit so deep

@dg-vc8fz

Awesome video dude it was deep!!!

@Roguji

3:32 As you say and as the wind fish said, after all it is the nature of dreams to end.

@dchen73

I would stay on the island until I explored every corner and understand everything the island has to offer. Once I feel comfortable with everything and have nothing else interesting to do, I would wake up the Wind Fish and leave the island to explore new things. The hard part is getting to the Wind Fish since there are horrifying uncanny nightmares along the way like the Slime Eye and the Genie, which make me more uncomfortable than seeing Demon King Ganondorf for the first time in Tears of the Kingdom.

@11susu11

Damn didn't expect to find awakening in this little 4 minutes cute video
