@jamesrule1338

I don't expect people to know history, or read much. But I know all of you have watched the X-Men movies. So everyone should all realize that when the government wants to register people, it's not going to be a good thing.

@yippieskippy2971

For anyone who doesn't know what eugenics looks like, it's RFK's sentiment that non standard people are a tragedy.

@paigemcloughlin4905

He axed the narcan program, you gotta be a special kind of evil to be a former junkie and ax a program which saves addicts lives.

@Szadek23

His entire understanding of Autism appears to come from some drunk explaining the movie Rain Man to him in a shady bar at 4 am.

@AegixDrakan

When I heard that "they'll never use toilets unassisted" my jaw sagged. He was using straight up eugenicist talk in that press conference, and it's horrifying.

@mikechiu9767

If paying taxes is how we should measure a human being's worth, then trump would be pretty worthless.

@driftwood42

To quote what John Oliver said the other night, it really says something that the first thing he assumes people with autism can't do is pay taxes, as if the most valuable thing about a person is paying taxes.

@daveharrison84

Remember when Elon's defenders claimed autism made him do a Nazi salute?

@moth.monster

As an autistic person, I'm going to take this as a sign to stop paying taxes

@FrozEnbyWolf150-b9t

The autistic community has moved away from the term "nonverbal." The preferred term is non-speaking. It turns out that when you give people the right tools, such as writing utensils, computers, or ASL, they are perfectly capable of verbalizing their thoughts. It's about time we started listening to them.

@Erstameeks

Sure let’s not have national gun registration, instead lets have folks register their children’s medical conditions in a national database.

@Cruznick06

FYI, most of us autistics are reclaiming April as Autism Acceptance Month. The world is well aware of autism at this point. Now we need acceptance and support. Thank you for making this video. Its infuriating what is happening.

@crankydragon

I'm autistic and write most of my poetry while sitting on the toilet.

@MaxHymes-c8q

I spent the nineties in the work of undoing the damage of institutionalized ableism. Registries WILL be used to harm. They are right now.

@The_Horse-leafs_Cabbage

As someone on the spectrum (technically diagnosed with Aspergers, before that term was deprecated)... I'm really fucking sick of the misinformation around us. Plenty of us are capable of being full functioning, hard working citizens. And those of us who need more aid to get by aren't "destroying" families. The only reason why we might "regress" into autism is if we don't get the support we need. Don't put us on a registry and stop trying to slash funding to our support systems. I realize I'm preaching to the choir, but it honestly pisses me off.

@BEEFDEAD

So, let me get this straight. A gun owner registry is bad, but a registry based on DSM-5 diagnostic criteria good. Ok, boss. Whatever you say,

@JEndless2025

The more RFK talks about Autism the more clear it becomes that he doesn't know what Autism is exactly. It's just a nebulous bad thing that he can project any sort of "back in my day" non-scientific "conventional wisdom" falsehoods on to.

@bafelix89

Whats so bad about classifying an entire group of people as a drain on society and then wanting to have them all on a single database

Thats NEVER been a sign of bad intent ever

@randomrandom450

This is a great example of why the saying "why are you afraid to share your information, do you have something to hide ?" is very naive. It's not because you are afraid that you did something wrong and that they would find out, it's because you don't trust the people deciding what is right or wrong and they might think that what you did that was right, is now wrong. Not because it is, but because they decided it is.

@krisselissan6539

Just a quick heads up: a lot of autistic people prefer to talk about ”Autism Acceptance“ instead of ”Autism Awareness“, because more acceptance of autistic people would help us much more than more awareness about the disorder.
