You can get all the Selenium you need from your diet. Supplement not needed...
I recently learned I had extremely low selenium levels, which have contributed to my fatigue and hair loss. Thank you for your informational videos!
Eat these 7 items to get Selenium: 1) Brazil Nuts 2) Seafood 3) Pork 4) Beef 5) Turkey 6) Chicken 7) Egg yolk
I had a subtotal thyroidectomy at 17 years old due to Grave's disease and you are the first doctor I have heard about this from. I found info about this on the internet myself, but none of my medical doctors ever told me this. I am in my 50s, and have taken synthetic thyroid hormones since my thyroid was removed. I am thankful that I am finally hearing doctors who know and share info about nutrition, and diet. ♥️
From what I can gather, Selenium and Iodine together seem to be a powerhouse against almost everything negative about our health. It's never talked about in the mainstream either, which strengthens my beliefs further. Being on the carnivore diet I think I get enough selenium, but I've recently bought some iodine to go along with it. Could be a game-changer.
Foods are : 1 - Brazilian nuts 2 - any seafood 3- pork 4 - Turkey 5 - chicken 6 - beef 7 - egg yolks
This is very educational , informative as a lot of us aren't able to afford healthcare from specialists. I suffered from a worsening case of swelling of tyrhoids early this year, and had symptoms of what seems like hyperthyroidism ( my family member has it as well and has long passed away). At 40 ,I started taking Selenium 200mcg supplement daily and within 3 weeks, the swelling of tyrhoids in which I have always have ( but worsen early this year) settled itself. Hence now I am just maintaining it taking selenium occasionally , not daily, and I incorporated seaweed, seakelp as part of my diet. Most importantly, do seek professional consultation from trusted healthcare providers if it is affordable or accessible to you, because at the same time, there are dangers of self diagnosis. We can only do what we can , with what we can afford with the knowledge we can find that does not cost a fortune. Thank God for Youtube. May all be safe and healthy in these challenging times.
I take it when I'm sick because my old friend who is a farmer gives it to the goats when they get sick and it helps them. 😄
love how i used to come to these videos absolutely clueless but now i can sit here and think ''well i eat all of those!'' :)) (minus the nuts), thank you for what you do!
I truly learn so much more from Dr. Berry’s videos than from my own doctor! Someone mentioned Brazil nuts in the comments; I eat eggs frequently, but not every day so will be adding these nuts for days when I don’t have an appetite for eggs! Love 💕 your channel, Dr. Berry and also appreciate the M. C. Escher prints on your wall. He’s my favorite artist! 😊
Have been keto 80% carnivore for there years. I have hyperyhorisum. Dr never told me any of this. He just keep pushing statins which I will not take. I learn something new almost everyday from doctor B. Thank you🙂
Dr Berry always give informative and helpful videos. When do regular MDs start giving their patients info like this??
Thank you Dr. Berry for all these health informations you are giving to me freely, I started the keto dieting only over a month ago after my blood pressure and blood sugar was high... My blood sugar and pressure are on the normal range now. My family think I'm loosing it because of the amount of fat intake I am on a daily basis, especially the animal fat and butter. I can say I am healthier than before. Low carbs is the way.
Thank you, glad to hear seafood has it. I live in an area that is selenium deficient and I raise a good portion of my own food or source it locally. I raise dairy goats and have to inject them with selenium twice a year to prevent miscarriages, retained placentas and offspring with white muscle disease. Minerals bought from feed stores have very limited amounts by law. It recently occurred to me that I had symptoms of deficiency myself since I am sourcing my food locally so started taking a supplement but getting my dose through food is preferable. So folks who live in areas like I do and source their meat locally, might consider that there is inadequate selenium in that meat. Also to be considered is if you live in an area with selenium in the soil, you may not need to add any to your diet.
Dr. Berry this is valued information. So very helpful and I appreciate.Your making lives so much better.I have recommended others to watch your videos as they are extremely beneficial. Doing all this for others shows what a great doctor you are. Thank you so very much. Kindest regards from north east England.
I was diagnosed with thyroid problems and had part of my thyroid removed. NOTHING was advised by my care giver concerning selenium. Thank you for info
Do one on adrenal fatigue please
Wow, this is like the 3rd time you've mentioned and talk about something that's going on with me at that time lol. I just started TODAY taking celenium. I have Hoshimoto issues from a hyperactive thyroid that gave me a goiter and I had to have it removed, and I was having some bad symptoms then bam! Lol you did a video on it the next day. Also, I was wondering how to deal with inflammation and I was hurting really bad, then you recommended a Epson salt bath. Low and behold, I started feeling better. You know your stuff, and you are appreciated 🧡
Thanks Dr. B! I started a selenium supplement a couple of years ago because I have Hashimoto's and couldn't commit to daily Brazil nuts. Now doing the math on what I eat every day as a ketovore, I realize I'm very likely getting WAY more than the RDA just from food. Here you are saving me money on on supplements again. :)
