Agar difference 1 hai to: x = 10 + 3√11 , Multiplying both sides with (10 - 3√11) x (10 - 3√11) = (10 + 3√11) (10 - 3√11) (As you know a^2 - b^2 = (a+b)(a-b) x (10 - 3√11) = 100-99 x (10 - 3√11) = 1 10 - 3√11 = 1/x Now x + 1/x = (10 + 3√11) + (10 - 3√11) = 10 + 10 = 20 And x - 1/x = (10 + 3√11) - (10 - 3√11) = 3√11 - (-3√11) = 2(3√11) = 6√11 Underlying fact: if x is a+b in such a way that a^2-b^2= 1, you will get 1/x= a-b...... So x + 1/x = (a+b)+(a-b) = 2a and x - 1/x = (a+b)-(a-b)=2b ...
