“At this point I was feeling like the drone clashed a bit with the artistic vision, but I didn’t want to outright remove it because somebody had probably spent a lot of time on it” angelic singing descends from the skies as he is swept up into developer heaven
The second dev really came in clutch making a proper game loop out of the initial idea
I dont know if its because of the new "cant remove" rule but this and the last taxi dragon videos had a way better end result than those "incidents" that happened last year
4:00 'At this point I'm feeling like the drone clashed a little bit with the artistic vision. But I didn't want to ouright remove it because someone had probably spent a lot of time programming this.'' If only every Dev had this level of respect. Wonderful to hear!
the dev that fixed the weapon animations really changed the feel of the game and the before and after had me even saying YESSSSSSSSSS, the desire to play the game at that point was a 11/10.
I think for the more complete games, there should be a continuation video where the developers get another run at the game, where the try and finish the game completetly, because some of these games actually have promise, and its a shame they never get completed! Just an idea!
7:01 That was me! Thanks for using my free models :) it's always such an honor to be featured in the videos.
I must say, this is likely the finest game to emerge from these challenges. I appreciate the developers' decision not to discard any elements but instead to expand upon what they had. Truly an excellent game, folks.
I remember reading that Gandhi quote back in high school and I had no idea what he was on about. Now it's all so clear
ever since "The Incident", I always go into these videos now thinking "Who's gonna mess it up this time?", but this time I'm just really impressed. Good job!
Very cool of rugbug redfern (the second dev) to reskin the drone into a fairy instead of removing it because he guessed the first dev had spent a lot of time on it. Transformative but still respectful of the work of the other dev
Thanks so much for the invite Noa! It's crazy how close the levels at the end were to my initial vision!
Was great taking part in this! I loved the outcome so much. Good job to everyone involved! Also, there's a cat!? I never found that
Really love how this one turned out. Dude i cant get enough of these. Keep up the good work! lemme know if you ever wanna do one of these including someone that doesnt remotely know anything about any aspect of game design! :D (i dont recommend LOL)
Thanks a ton for having us! This was a blast. Really enjoy how it turned out and had a ton of fun working on it.
Probably the best pass a game challenge on your channel. The dev who turned the drone into a fairy understood the assignment 100%. Don't take away the hard work someone put in, reimagine and adapt it to fit something better than before
Is it just me or did the game turn out pretty freaking good 🧐 Edit: Also, why the f did all the trees and rocks disappear in my version?! :face-orange-biting-nails: They weren't there when I loaded up the game, I swear!
this series is so great for so many reasons: - it provides a boost for devs to show off their projects in a decently popular channel - you get to see the way everybodys brains work from what they see to what they decide to add aswell as everyones specific talents like modelling, music or creative ideas - its really funny to see how clearly so many people have been inspired by dani in his short appearance on youtube aswell as some of the games that clearly made so many people decide that they wanted to make games and not just play them (it reminds me of how everybody i know studying to become an engineer has watched michael reeves, william osman, allen pan or others as they all do great jobs of showing what engineering is really like)
RESPECT TO THE SECOND DEV for not removing the drone and actually respecting others work
