For better results, you can have the layer, but don’t clip it yet! Color in and add shadings and stuff to, for example, the skin first (it can go outside the lineart) and then merge the layers and then clip it!

Suggestion! You can alsobopen layers and click the three dots and click "select opacity" of the current layer! Then whatever layer you open youll only affect the selected area. If the selected area was a little transparent, even that'll carry over.
