"Appeals to an older audience" Damn I didn't realize me being 23 is already considered old 😢
Thank you for another awesome review. I never comment on videos, but after two years of resarch and test drives, I purchased this car and I felt compelled to add my two cents. I'm the target audience. 60 years old (check!). I want a cushy-ass sofa on wheels (soft suspension, super quiet, comfortable seats and slightly raised for ease of entry and exit (check!) and I bought my black XLE with saddle tan interior with the intention of driving it until the wheels fall off (check!). I was in the market for a Lexus 350NXh, but here in the Pacific Northwest, the demand for that model is so high that dealers are not selling them for less than $60K all in. I paid $47K for my crown out the door and I'm happy.
We purchased the Signia a few months ago. This is a fantastic vehicle averaging right at 40mpg city/hwy combined. The seating is extremely comfortable, the hybrid system is seamless, and the build quality is fantastic. We are very glad that we pulled the trigger on this vehicle.
Even when Mark is just banging out a review, it is some of the best stuff on YouTube. Connoisseur quality, baby
If my wife sees me come to court in this maybe she'll let me see the kids for two weekends a month instead of one! 😃
Looks like a worthy successor to the Venza, which I bought in 2021 for basically the reasons Mark mentioned why people would buy this. Quiet, slightly upscale (from, say a RAV-4 for example) without having to pony up for Lexus prices, extremely reliable and excellent resale value. I do plan on keeping this for 10 years, but I just want something I can drive and maintain with minimal fuss and so far it's been flawless.
I've had a Crown Insignia for nearly 6 months I , and it is a truly nice HIGH QUALITY, and best engineered car I have ever had! I paid 44K for it, and I feel I got a good deal.
As a 6' guy at 200lbs, I rode in the back seat of the base model Signia for an hour last month and it was surprisingly comfortable. I would absolutely cross shop this with the Subaru Outback. Great MPG and comfort for the money.
That green gray color looks killer with that Brown interior.
I test drove last year the Crown. Absolutely loved it but was very curious about the Signia. But by the time you include sales tax, etc, etc, its nearly $60K. Above my paygrade. Went with a Venza LE. Out the door with add-ons for $40K . I get 38mpg- 46mpg on 18" wheels. I did later add after market speakers and a self powered sub woofer. Incredible sound
Honestly, this would make a great commuter without calling attention to yourself like the GM counterparts. Modest & sleek. I honestly would not mind parking this at B rated Arby’s or at the bougie steakhouse that forces me to shower first before waking in.
Your energy level for this piece perfectly matched the grey paint.
Just needs a CD player for that target customer. Toyota Crown....Vic.
I have been watching this for the last year or so, I had been considering a Lexus NX300h, and I was motivated enough to get one. Partly that was the packages associated with the Lexus, requiring me to buy a bunch of stuff I didn't want to get a built in charger, coupled with the strict simplicity of Crown Signia configuration, XLE or Limited. Granted I am likely the target market, middle-aged with adult children, but it does deliver. The market is quiet sure what to do about this car so you can get the Crown Signia XLE for $3k or so off TSRP. If you want a reasonable light lux vehicle without glitz this is good option.
You have evolved into the SavageDads channel, and I'm here for it.
If I was looking for a new car, the Crown Signia is what I'd want to buy.
Great review - you have a sophisticated understanding and taste (not news, but extra apparent in this video). Most reviewers seem perplexed by the Crown - it takes a certain depth of car knowledge to really "get" it. These things are cool.
What a clean video! Great shots (as always), good background information, clear talking points, and final thoughts made complete sense. Nice Work!
Of the Toyotas I've owned - 2010 Prius IV, 2018 Highlander XLE V6, and the endless list that the rest of my extended family own - the Crown Signia is def the one I'm privileged to take to my grave. Smooth, refined, yet a station wagon that embarasses my friends who can take an Uber if they'd like. It's my daily driver that allows me and my service dog, Jack, to get to my hospital job in pure luxury - the utmost in daily self care. Ultimately, I concur w the analysis and knowing the high standards Toyota set forth for their Japanese workers, I rest easy knowing my hard earned cash is going to some of the finest automakers in the world. Not to mention, the dealer I bought mine from honored my $2000 Costco discount, because it was too new to get on their list for 2024, and mine was the 3rd Crown Signia ever to make it off their lot. Thanks for all you and Jack do, Mark!
