Finally, someone who listed Izuku on the sad backstory list. He didn't have a horrible upbringing by parents but he was bullied for ten whole years. Not to mention becoming a vigilante and being judged by people.

2 more characters I believe should be added (pls ignore if you think im annoying) 1. Shoji- almost murdered every single day just for how he looked 2. Aoyama- his whole life was exploited, he lived every single moment in fear (may or may not be biased bc he's my fave)

I believe its said somewhere that Eri died hundreds to thousands of different ways but got repaired and brought back by chisaki over and over again which to be honest makes my stomach turn

Honestly, one of the most saddest backstory’s in the show is not on this list and that is Shoji’s, it literally had me crying when I found out what happened to him! For those who don’t know: Shoji was born in more of a countryside area where mutant quirks are extremely despised and people are even hunted for having mutant quirks, Shoji was of course born with a mutant quirk, as such many people would do things like chase him down and beat him an extreme amount of times when he was just a child, causing many scars to appear on his face which he later on covers up with a mask, but after joining class 1-A and seeing how nice they are to him and treat him like one of their own it gave him hope and made him feel less alone

It's insane that Izuku was bullied and mocked for not having a quirk and wanting to be a hero, yet has a classmate with a doorstop for a head. One can stretch their eyeballs out. Like what?

Toya and shigaraki were sad af but I give it to hawks hands down, poor, hated, and used, only highlight of his life was the endeavor toy and it reminds me of my nephew and his tmnt toy. And if toga got to roll wit stain theyd be the coldest blood duo

One more character that should be on the list is all might, before he got one for all and met nana Shimura, his entire family was dead and then Nana, his mother figure died. He was probably bullied for being quirkless too. Edit: If kota is on the list he should be to. Shoji should also be included.

I think it's hawks Because he was subjected to violence, hatred and isolation from the world since birth and was deprived of childhood and love, even when he became a hero, he was deprived of his name and freedom by making him a tool for corporations and the government.😤😟😞

The 2 characters who I think had the saddest backstories (and who are also my favorites) are Yoichi and Shoji. I’m surprised Shoji didn’t make the list. Him being abused by his town for just existing and nearly being lynched for saving a Child made me cry when it happened in the manga cause I wasn’t expecting that sort of backstory for him. For both characters, pasts are a big part of why I like them so much. they had really traumatic, awful pasts and it would be understandable if they either became outright villians or just jaded, angry, and done with humanity. But they intentionally decided that they wanted to be good people and help others. I find Yoichi particularly impressive cause a lot of people in his situation would either give in when tempted with the level of power AFO had and was offering or (understandably) break after all the mental abuse and gaslighting and just submit to save themselves. The fact that he’s not only sane but just as nice and idealistic as he was when he was alive is impressive. I’m glad that you included Deku. As someone who spent the K-8grds being severally bullied and treated like dirt for having a disability, it’s seriously damaging and has long term effects even if it isn’t physical. And, as the last few arcs showed, his recklessness and lack of self-worth are a direct result of the mindset the bullying created. This was a fun video to watch now that I’m suffering from MHA withdrawal.

I personally think that Midoriya had not ,,the worst’’ but a bad backstory. He was told to commit, bullied by almost everyone heck even his middle school teacher! And yet people see him as a cry-baby. I honestly love all the different AU’S of him existing like villain Deku AU.

That's the funny part about Shigaraki; You CAN blame Shigaraki for becoming a villain, just not TOMURA Shigaraki. Guess what? "Shigaraki" is a family name, with it also being the real name of All for One! And the reason why he gave Tomura that name? It wasn't to make him a part of his family, it was because HE INTENDED TO TAKE OVER TOMURA'S BODY EVER SINCE THE DAY HE WAS BORN AS TENKO SHIMURA. Even Kotaro had a hand in this, as he was manipulated into having a second kid as All for One suggested!!

Tenko's mom was not emotionally distant. Nevertheless, Shigaraki is still the most tragic character. The other villains had some agency (except arguably Toga) but Shigaraki (spoilers) was being groomed by AFO before he was even born

Shotos scar is actually caused cuz when the hot ware was put on shotos face Rey tried to freeze the burn making it a freeze burn
