I had a C5 ZO6 for years. Completely built LS6, big cam, supercharged, long tube headers, tuned, and on and on. 2900 lbs is the lightest corvette ever made. Couple that with over 700 hp to the wheels and you have one heck of a car

Any Vette guy who trashes the C5 (especially the Z06) must not know that this generation literally saved the Corvette. It was slated to be discontinued after the C4, but two Chevy engineers worked on the C5 plan in private to save it and leadership was so impressed with it once they'd ironed out all the details that they decided to keep making them

Owning a C6 has got me to appreciate the C5 a LOT more. A lot of engineering and parts from C5 went into the C6. Two amazing generations. Would love a second C5 corvette now 😂

I own a c7 z06. Recently a old family friend offered me their cherry one owner 04 z06. That c5 is so fun to track that the wife now has a c7 for her toy. The c5 is 100% pure drivers car with no BS that adds nothing to the performance level. Posers and pretty boys need not apply.

C5 is wider and looks better. The flup up head lights are such a much sexier look. LS6 can easily push the power of a C6 Zo6 if the power is the issue. I actually like the C6 Zo6 but I do prefer the look and stance of the C5, if the interior doesn't do it for you get the interior upgraded and you have the best of both worlds

C5’s simplicity is an advantage over the C6. And sure the C7’s got a ton more power but where you gonna swing that big stick? C5’s power to weight is the sweet spot imo.

There's something really cool looking about the C5 Z06. I'm actually not a big fan of the C5's looks in general, but the Z06 with the different roof clears it up and makes it look cool!
