The director on the game an ex Ubisoft dev The lead composer was a soundcloud shitposter, not even a soundcloud rapper or music writer, just shitposted in comment sections The lead writer was a voice actor who tried to audition but they made her write the story Half the dev team was recruited from reddit during the pandemic How the fuck did this game turn into a modern masterpiece?
A game has to absolutely insane if it gets you to respect french “people”
Growing up in the gameboy pokemon era has trained me well for turn based games
BG3 has forever changed my mind about turn based games. Some of the best games I've ever played.
Funny thing is in most TRPG's, attacks that come at you either have you just stand there and take damage, or have a very low kind-of blocking mechanic (like paper mario) This one, parries and dodges neglect all damage, parries are harder while dodging is easier, but you gain AP and chances to do counter-attacks You can literally go through the entire game without taking damage, and I'm waiting for someone to do just that like with dark souls
"Respect the french" is crazy work
Bruh. That last line. Stunned me before I could laugh. It caught me completely off guard. Lmfao.
That's sound real british of you friend, welcome to the team. Clair Obscur has also made me respect the french just a little more.
I really like how Undertale/Deltarune does it! Doing a mini bullet-hell challenge to dodge attacks is really fun imo!
People "turn based is so boring" Me "yeah its neat, i can just press the button, see awesome stuff happening, combo them together with party skills and buffs and i dont need to spend 17 hours in some sort of practice mode first like in a dmc or tekken game"
I used to dislike the idea of even playing a turn based game before I played the peak that was fear and hunger. Now, I am so hyped for turn based games.
Turn based combat was never all that bad. Theres a reason that Final Fantasy is so enduring and Persona is so beloved. ... And that Darkest Dungeon is going to give me an aneurism from stress.
This game is an absolute gem
Respect the French! you sold me, that's my next game purchase.
Trust me, there's nothing better than pulling off a full counter on a new attack
Expedition 33 is amazing! Definitely my GOTY so far
The final I "never see it coming"
If you want a another turn base game, "slay the spire" is a good pick, and the sequel is coming out this year
As one of French origin, I couldn’t agree more 😂
