1. Easily manipulated 2. Don’t think independently 3. Will not question middle management 4. Will accept any responsibilities they give you 5. Will accept $20/hr 6. Doesn’t know their legal rights
this gentleman is quite optimistic about the work world these days
If an interviewer asked you the first question about "talk about a time when you worked with a difficult person"? Chances are you will be working in a toxic environment with difficult people! Just my experience
This is fascinating to me. I smash all of these out of the park - except for enthusiasm, and it’s cost me opportunities my whole working life. After 25 years, I finally realise that other people find energy a desirable trait.
This breakdown of core competencies is GOLD! 💡 Resourcefulness, decision-making, and modern skills are definitely key, but I never realized how much hiring managers analyze our career moves. Definitely taking notes for my next interview! 🙌 Thanks for the insight, Brian!"
At the end of an interview, when/if the interviewer says "we'll call you in 3 weeks" most of the time they're telling you that you didn't get the job without them saying so.
This job market sucks
You can do all the right things and still not get the job. It’s ridiculous
Scary. The message in those interviews is clear: how to be a desired subordinate. Better be your own boss.
1. Resourcefulness: if you see i have promotions and been with a company for several years that is proof of this. 2. Decision Making: having promotions and moving to new companies for more money is proof. 3. Current Skills: All jobs require thoses skills and it had been used just look at job titles and each person has those basd skills recurituters need to make a list of baseline skills for each job role. 4. Timeliness: this needs to apply to companies only in their replying to your resume. They need the role filed so they need to be set. This is also proved when you have promotions on your resume. 5. Professionalism: again this is proved by your job history you been with companies 3 or more years and have several promotions or role changes. 6. Enthusiasm: who would have energy when you spent 8 months applying for jobs and after 2k apps you got the 2nd or 3rd interview that will never call back.
Interviewing is just bullying by another name.
If companies were actually this thorough, Id would not have had any of my past managers.
My problem is I can't kiss ass in an interview, it's all about kissing ass at this point
As a GC holder from Michigan, I find it very wild here. All jobs seem gone, even though we have Uber, Lyft, and Doordash options. There is so much competition, and pay is so low. It does not cover bills or personal needs. I continuously apply for jobs in the cleaning and food industry, as a technician, in an apprenticeship, and in other positions. I don’t want to be picky while still searching for my dream job. I’m not joking. These industries' jobs are ghosting, or we never hear back! It’s a very big warning, and it feels like most of us will never get professional jobs either. I guess so many people are going to be homeless like me. This is wild. The world is getting crazier, and this economic situation will increase crime, shoplifting, theft, and harassment, including breaking relationships. It’s not fun at all!!
"they may go through your resume line by line" lol
What each company looks for out of a candidate in an interview is majorly subjective. Some interviewers will see your genuine enthusiasm as a bonus, while other interviewers will see your genuine enthusiasm as annoying, unprofessional and/or misconstrued for fake enthusiasm. That's the problem with interviews. A lot of the time, interviewers get to ask whatever question they want and can reject you on literally any part of your answer OR on the fact you didn't answer with enough enthusiasm OR they did not like your word choice when you explained something OR they didn't like the look on your face while you were answering it. That's the real hard part about interviewing imo. There is no 1 list of things that will work for every interview.
Had an interview. It was ok but the interviewer seemed uninterested, constantly spoke looking away from me. Has anyone else had this happen?
Just because you can't demonstrate skills off the top of your head in an interview. Doesn't mean you can't demonstrate those skills using a book. Afterall, that's what lawyers do. 🤷🏼♂️
Brian, you can’t sit here and tell me that I’m deserving of any rejection at any stage EVER. I’m only deserving of the best given my 3 years of experience in data analytics, and I should be rewarded with any job of my choosing given how great and competent I am
