Even 30 years later, the PS1 still has hidden gems. Such a deep catalog
13:22 SAMURAI SHOWDOWN - THANK YOU FOR REMINDING ME OF THIS GAME. I USED TO PLAY IT A LOT IN MY CHILDHOOD DAYS.
Nice to see you do another video on underrated PS1 games, TVGS! They open my mind up to more titles I’ve never heard of before.
Great list as usual, ty ! I only wish I had time to actually play some of these :(
I thought I knew pretty much every good game on the PS1, but I found some on here I had never heard of but am dying to try! Thank you!!!
So glad I saw this. So many little gems I never even knew existed. For example, I never knew that Goemon got a PS1 game. Also, I never knew that Samurai Showdown got the street fighter EX treatment. Above all, I would have REALLY wanted to play that Side by Side special racing game. I was a big sucker for those kinds of racing games on PS1.
Wow! Gekido looks impressive for its time.
I love PS1 racing games and never knew of the existence of Side by Side Special. It looks awesome!
The strength of Sony's philosophy was to open up a modern gaming platform for anyone to develop and publish at a relatively low cost. Remember, Sega and to a greater extent Nintendo demanded total control of their platforms and the games that reached them. Controlling the cart licensing media. They could and did block many games and content. They would claim that kept quality high, but we know that isn't really true. It was just about commercial control and power over developers. Sony delivered this machine where small indie devs could make the game they wanted, find a small publisher and release it after minimal Sony intervention to certify the game. That meant there were then hundreds of games. A lot of dross but also a lot of low budget gems that also led to huge unexpected hits. They changed the industry forever in a positive way.
I had no idea that R.A.D. had a prior game. This is so awesome
Gekido a rare gem from SICILY!!! people forget them when think about Gekido!
Sonic Wings Special is such a falsely advertised title. Where's my blue hedgehog at??
That Ecsaform looks really interesting. Thanks for digging these up!

Thank you for featuring Remote Control Dandy. I think I remember playing a demo of that game in a PlayStation Underground demo disc or something like that. There was a section of Japan exclusive games in it. I have been looking for that game for a while now.
I have a promo copy of Jackie Chan Stuntmaster, quite a fun game, especially if u also like 90s jackie chan comedy/action. quite hard to find these days.
