Fun fact to anyone that have some contacts in film industry: THAT is a "polish accent" while speaking english. We do not speak with russian accent :)
Polish people - the best friends and the worst enemies one can have on this planet.
I see GROM I click. Greetings from Poland.
Fighting alongside GROM operators is probably every soldier's best chance of returning alive. Almost every GROM operator is also a trained combat medic, hence their nickname "Surgeons"...
Many times ive heard the seals and delta forces in iraq say That GROM was just kickin ass and that theyd work/ fight WITH THEM, Shoulder to Shoulder on any battle field was Grom were Loyal and True WARRIORS.. RESPECT POLLAND
The polish have suffered so much throughout recent history. It's amazing how they in the end still came out on top. Well done Poland! 🇳🇱♥️🇵🇱
I had a Polish friend that told me about Grom years ago. He was never a guy with much praise for anyone or anything, so when he said "They are very good", that probably means they are among the very best.
Had the honor to train with these guys, honestly some of the hardest guys i ever met.
Everyone knows that GROM is one of the best units in the world
Cool guy, glad he's on our side. The Poles are FANTASTIC. They've learned hard lessons throughout history, history we like to forget or think is no longer applicable. Kudos to this guy. Great story.
Awesome, brave Polish-American Patriot. Thank you, Sir, for your service. Great video clip. Best from Texas.
Tomek, greeting from Lodz! In Poland, we are proud of you. You are making us, Poles, look good. Being Polish myself, it was awesome to see this interview. Thank you, Shawn Ryan, for having Drago as your guest. Proud of you. Drago, I am not sure if you remember me. We practiced TKD together in Lodz. Yes, your fights were legendary. I was helping your mom after you were arrested for anti-communist activism. Andrzej from Lodz, Poland.
Navy SEAL: "Let's bring him carefully down the stairs" GROM: yeet!
We are also proud of GROM here. We respect them. Greetings from Poland. 😎
One of my best Army memories was during our pre-deployment train-up in Hohenfels, GE. My platoon (2nd Plt, 272nd MP CO, 95th MP BN Mannheim) partnered w/ a Polish Airborne Infantry platoon also training in Hohenfels. Our Plt leader did a great job liaisoning w/ the Polish commander. Our final exercise was a joint w/ the Poles. Definitely high speed. It was a proud period during my service. They were and are great allies. Good content Shawn! Greetings from Cool Springs!
Great interview, thanks Shawn for having Drago, promoting the Polish SF, and Poland. Best of luck and God bless US all.
Had the great privilege of working twice with GROM- 2008 and 2021. Both amazing experiences. Good men. Great operators. In 08 communication was a mix of broken English and Russian but by 21 the English skills of those men had grown by leaps and bounds and made life much easier. Very diligent, capable and friendly men. Zubrovka and apple juice was a standard cocktail. When GROM laid on a spread of chow it was always great. They knew how to throw a party.
Worked a lot with Poles. The men are generally not PC in any way, which can be kind of funny and refreshing up here in ultra PC Sweden. The ones I worked with all took great pride in doing a good job
The name of the Polish military special unit GROM is an acronym that stands for: "Grupa Reagowania Operacyjno-Manewrowego" which translates to: "Operational Maneuver Response Group" in English. Interestingly, "GROM" also means "thunder" in Polish, giving it a powerful double meaning — both an acronym and a symbolic name. Pretty badass, honestly.
