@tarpara

Biggest improvement in my skiing was when I moved from a poor fitting, but acceptable, boot that was 1/2 size too big for me into an advanced medium volume boot that fit snug to tight. It had me immediately in proper skiing position so long as I didn’t over tighten the shin straps. Proper ski position worked out my shin muscles like crazy also totally improved my speed and carving.

Folks if your foot is sliding up and down, even slightly, you have the wrong fit and need to get a proper boot fit or custom insole.

@Scr3amapillar

Your skis make a V cause you lean inside the turn. Inner ski gets more pressure and does the turn, the outta one wants to get straight down the fall line cause of no pressure.
Simple physics.
Next thing i saw: widen your legs! Since we got carvers we ski hip width. This gives you more control, especially on ice and race carving.
Never ever lean inside!
Ski hip width!
Enjoy your snowdays and stay safe.
Happy new year. 🤙

Excellent explanation

@MsRainbowJenny

Our bookclub is discussing this book tonight, thank you for interviewing Tiya Miles.

@TucoDog-ho6fw

Letting that inside ski flop around is asking for trouble. This guy is a good instructor

@FullMetalGundam

Such a clear explanation of the issue and the solution. Thank you 🙏🏽

@jeffvolimas5819

My mantra is "Little toe, big toe," which engages my inside ski. If I feel out of form, I chant "Little toe, big toe." Great video.

@bluesstoney

Great video and explanation. Does every skier have a strong and a weak side? Left turns are easy for me and right turns are not. This comes from ice-skating which I’ve done all my life and the default direction is CCW on the rig (left turns).
My second question is related to my trouble giving the inner leg (right turn- my right leg) the same angle as the left foot and if I don’t pay enough attention, my right ski wants to take over😂 the lead and I am then in bad trouble. It seems to me that I want to feel the physical force between ski edge and snow to properly carve with the inner ski. But then again, I have too much weight on the inner ski.

@The360skier

Thanks for the explanation. It was really clear and understandable. I love these kinds of tips.

@jacob1121

Number one cause of this issue is unsharpened rental skis, if you have no grip there is nothing you can do.

@RandyGray-h2k

The first video clip shows convergence of the skis, then the second set shows divergence. I see more of the intermediate advanced skiers allowing their outside ski tail to wash out.

@2MilMil

Bro that pov at the start of video is excellent. But very short unfortunately. Do you think you could make longer videos in that pov? I think it will be very helpful to learners. Thx!

@pawab

MAN I TRIED IT AND IT WORKED 🎉🎉🎉 THANK YOU SO MUCH

Thank you fir the tip!

@AlexHodgson-hh7du

Fischer is the best! 😍

@in-the-bear-doh

My biggest problem right there. Rolling the knee over a little bit doesn’t hurt either.

@Cole-Stewart7

Thanks dawg, low key needed this little tip.

@matthewadams910

Great simple explanation Tom, it helped me on my carving journey. Thanks. 🤩⛷️

@riccapatrol

I want that ski outfit!!!! 😁
