What to do in software developer interviews: https://youtu.be/CJ_YTVRAHe0
Why you should start a programming channel on youtube: https://youtu.be/QILxmJpH6wM

@newdimension4731

Learn TO PAGE & CODE as a web dev, CREATE on your computer a few web pages, MAKE YOUR GITHUB, make it accessible, do your RESUME even with no experience but DO MENTION you have a PORTFOLIO (laptop with your creative web pages) THAT'S A START as long as you can show YOUR CODING and you understand the codes, the pagination, how to place text, images etc... DO IT! im over 60 AND DIVING INTO THE WEB WORLD come on kids! SKY IS THE LIMIT... remember that line!

@christopherkrause337

You accidentally made this public rather than sending it straight to me. lol, what's a little competition. Honestly thanks for the video. You make solid content and I wish for the success of many developers.

@leopoldomedeiros8420

I don't know.. I got such a trauma. I am a Mid Level Full Stack, and in my last experience I got fired in 3 weeks from a start up cause they thought as I had a previous experience I was under a Senior of knowledge, even after I mentioned in the interview I am not a Senior they decided to hire me amyeay, but after a while they fired me straight away.
I felt a piece of shit.. I am a father, and it's been 1 month and a half without a job.
Now I am super afraid to every job I apply for to happen the same thing again.
Get a job and don't be good enough.

@wukerplank

Very good video! Basically how I started my career (start at a small company). Also to the last point: Most companies want to retain their employees and are happy to support their ambitions (if possible and if it makes sense for the business of course). Don't be shy and talk to your manager, you'd be amazed what's possible.

@kingduck303

Your videos are always fantastic and as someone just breaking into learning to code for a career, I always appreciate them.

@eg4933

fantastic advice. I never even realized the first point on glassdoor and others that are just starting out that would most need no-experience programming work.

@David_Liu93

Wow that's a great idea. So many people rely just on sending CVs online and patiently waiting for the result.
But oldschool "show up to the doorstep" can definitely make you stand out cuz it's non cliche and even if it doesn't work for many times, eventually it can happen.
Thanks a lot for the great hint, I'm off to Google all the Calgary local web dev related companies 🤝

@ДжейШмидт

I tried walking into companies. Nowadays they think you are creepy if you do that. You will never hear back

@TwitchRadio

I do want to mention that if you have a IEEE membership, they have an awesome community of professionals that are more willing to help you... and to be honest I haven't used it in a few years but it is another way to network... in my opinion networking is key to landing that next job... But like you said, don't make it all about your self, you need to show genuine interest in what the other person really does, and sprinkle questions geared toward what you need answered through the conversation here in there... I've noticed that keep their attention a little longer.. anyways good luck guys

@alexzandriathegood

I'll be honest, I didn't expect this video to be particularly helpful (based on many others I've seen) but I clicked anyway. It was such a pleasant surprise to actually get quality advice and suggestions about the job search! Thank you so much for giving real, practical steps I can take to get that first job in tech.

@michaels2208

Thanks for the information. I'm just starting but I look at job listings to see what will be most beneficial for me to learn. Looking at everything they want I feel sick because it's so overwhelming not knowing what any of it is.

@justahumanwithamask4089

If it's this hard to get an in person job, I can't imagine a remote job because my country has no tech companies.

@jakejake3833

This is so helpful for a dropout who is also a self taught

@darkdudironaji

I HAVE a CS degree and nobody will hire you without experience.

@lovejoice1653

I thought it's possible in Japan to get a front-end developer remote job without prior experience since Japan has many tech companies. But I guess have to go to Tokyo and get an entry-level job for experience. Just like any other. Get a year of experience then from there get a remote job.

@Icedanon

How can these companies say there arent enough devs? The market is so over saturated you have to jumo through endless hoops. It shouldnt be this hard for junior devs.

@Kevin-cg7qk

Now that is thinking outside the box, thank you comrade.

@JorgeRodriguez-qx6hw

Hey thanks for the advice, I think its better to take it slow but with the right direction instead of rushing without direction

@andyl9920

I have several software engineer cousins, but they seem too busy to not answer my text/messages 😢
