This would've become a market leader in the late 80s if it had rear shoulder belts, a driver's airbag (both as standard) - and perhaps optional ABS with a 4-wheel disc option in premium models.

@WhiteWolf--

Owned one in 1998! It was a 1988 Premier LX, one of the best cars I've ever had. Very comfortable and roomy, bulletproof V6 and an all around great cruiser. Not the great handler but get a Talon for that! Unfortunately the engine began to overheat on me and I junked it before repairs. Great memories

@wendereiner2880

I had a Silver 1988 Eagle Premiere, great vehicle 😀😀😀 I did have to have the transmission replaced, it lost reverse, but luckily it was under warranty. No cost to me

@fredaydaybae8450

This is AWESOME!! Thanks for posting! I’ve lusted after a Premier since they came out

@afvet5075

I had a lot of problems with mine. But when it was running, it was fast and comfortable.

@MrBurndonesinkchair

So many photos and videos of cars that aren’t Eagle Premiers. If you didn’t know what one looked like, after watching this video, you still wouldn’t know what an Eagle Premier looked like.

@AutoMoments

This video is great! Haha. I love the opening with the flying bird footage. We're working on a documentary about American Motors / Eagle. Would you be willing to let us use this footage? Do you still have the original file?

@McElroysMotors

@syzygyio

They won’t say “Renault”

@skwerlking

Too bad all the buttons and levers look and operate in such a flimsy manner.

@VincentVader

My parents had one bought it brand new. It was a total POS.

@betweentheliness1
