Black cocoa powder in conjunction with color mill black oil color works wonders to achieve black buttercream
also mixing the buttercream with the coloring with an emersion blender makes the colors pop!
My intrusive thoughts are kicking in… telling me I can easily do this even though I’ve never baked a cake before 😂 looks lovely!
just some feedback, this isn’t a tutorial, you mentioned about 3 things that you did whilst the video plays, no mention of the items you use, what you’re doing, how to crumb coat, showing how to get an actual heart shape, (this is mostly round), the piping tip used… etc
omg it reminds me of the purple place cakes, so cute!
I personally think those cake layers should have been cut in half with another layer of buttercream or a filling.. otherwise no matter how much simple syrup you add it’s gonna be dry when eating it
this is the perfect cake to frosting ratio actually you guys are crazy
for those who don't know the liquid she added to the cake in the first step is simple syrup (equal parts sugar and water) and bakers use it to add moisture to their cakes, especially if it's a large project that could take more than a day to complete
Pro tip: try using an emersion blender for colors! You can use less and it helps blend out the grainy texture.
i’d do everything in the exact same way, except for the layering… I think I’d cut them in half and make four instead of two, just because i’m a sweet tooth and love frosting
I just want the top scraps of the hearts you cut… yum!
Yes, please make a video on how you do back and red icing!
Nice! I’d love to see how you warm it up
You could stick both of the top layers to each other and create a vertical/upright 3D heart cake.
❤ so gorgeous❤ I'm not brave enough try this layer stuff yet!
Use a hand blender to emulsify the black into the buttercream, it xomes out smooth and jet black 😊❤
Oh i love it. That black buttercream is gorgeous.
That’s so elegant looking.Especially if you add white muah !!!!!
This is the exact cake I want to make for my mom! Thank you so much
