I'm a elementary school teacher who gives out my pokemon cards to my students whenever they behave, pass test, answer questions correctly, or if I'm just feeling nice. I even give them other pokemon products. I can never understand scalpers.
Scalping feels like a team rocket plan
Reminder, if you "accidentally" trip a scalper and it leads to heavily damaged product while videoing it, send it to shop owners.
I was at a Costco and found a pokemon card box and was going to buy it but a kid asked if he could have it so i gave it to him and the smile on his face was priceless.
Scalpers ruin everything they touch. Such a slimy business model.
These people are the equivalent of sweats who grief new players, both never touching grass💀
“Prepare for trouble, and make the price double” Team Scalper or smth
Canadian here and we do NOT condone the scalpers in Toronto
As usual, Logan Paul has to ruin everything.
Scalpers are the “well actually” of the Pokémon card world
I’m a kid and I’m stuck with working so long to get an allowance for 1 pack. I wish people would stop buying from these guys
I agreed scalpers ruined the fun of getting pokemon card
It's so sad. Most stores have moved there cards to behind shelves or locked then up. This making it more difficult to buy them because most stores don't have enough employees to help unlock them. Some people have had to wait for 30 minutes. Not to mention, most stores are limiting how many you can buy.
The day right before Journey Together release I was at my local grocery store when I saw that they were putting them on shelves and such. There was a small line and knowing luck I chose to join it. Hearing the 4 men infront of me talking about how they buy them in bulk just to sell the chase cards annoyed me to no end. I've been collecting Pokemon cards since 2013 and to see the blatant disrespect to this hobby by these guys who's biggest fear is a job application is just frustrating.
This is why we have the "I am not a robot" verification for scalpers who use bots.
If you’re buying older sets, just buy single cards. I feel really bad for anyone whose favorite Pokémon is Umbreon.
It's not just collectors that are getting hurt. Those that only care about playing are getting hurt because finding the singles of the cards the want to play, even in the lowest rarity, is actually somewhat challenging.
I agree. As a kid I used to go to card shops and Target to get Pokemon cards every week. Now if you go to either of these, Target will be sold out and the card shops will upcharge x100 the price of the card
The worst part is that it seems like some companies benefit so much from scalpers that they indirectly endorse them. I'm pretty sure it was stated in some Nintendo interview that the Switch was originally only released as a limited run to 'promote a healthy secondary market' or something similar.
