@Aawsomeguy

Full Metal Jacket is one of my favorite movies.

@michaelchlebowski8115

78-82 USMC Veteran. This movie 37 years later still sends chills down my spine. From boot camp to experiences fellow Marines shared about Viet Nam years earlier. Very little fantasy in the movie. From “ Love you long time” to “ to BUKU “ $10 ass. The entire range of weapons we trained on to training simulated firing. But R. Lee Emery’s portrayal of a Marine DI was spot on down right pure real. From verbal abuse, to physical assaults. Wow, 37 years later, done that, never again.

@andrewskokna9760

As Marine infantryman 82 to 86 I was in when they filmed heartbreak ridge with Clint Eastwood in California but FMJ will always be my favorite cuz boot camp was so much the same in '82

@waynemichaelchuck4078

As a Marine combat veteran of Vietnam, I found this movie to not only lack realism due to the phony scenery and the female sniper who kept coming back again and again after being shot.
    The brilliance of this film was the bootcamp scenes with Ronaid Lee Ermey. Never saw another movie that even close to Ermey's portrayal.
    I thought i was back at Parris Island .

@KenHeath

Although you skipped completely over him, Kevyn Major Howard, ("Rafterman"), recently passed away, (Feb 14, 2025). Semper Fi, my Friend. Thank you for your lifetime of support to our military and first responders.
Many people don't know that he went on to become a renowned photographer similar to his character.

@solarchos4352

Wow, David Parry didn't age!
We still miss you, R Lee Ermey.

@antonioaparicio5402

Brother... im so sorry for the departure of some iconic masterpieces of this film.. i trained my 4 year old daughther with this movie... no that she is 22 yrs old ... she is joining the force. Can"t thank enough for this film. God bless these guys!!!

@alankjkj1

That was an awesome movie. Many more people should have been recognized.

@RonaldWhittaker-b9h

I noticed one glaring omission was Kevin Major-Howard who played Rafterman, Jokers fellow Marine reporter and sidekick in Vietnam

@Jarhead1968

I graduated boot camp 15 July 1988. I had never heard of the movie. But the second I got home my Dad said “I have a movie we have to watch.” So I was literally just a few hours off the grinder when I saw this the first time. It was not what I wanted to watch at the time 😂 It’s since become a favorite of mine because of the realism of the first half. At the time I didn’t care for it because of the realism of the first half 😂

@Oklahoma75

My favorite Adam Baldwin role is when he played Ricky Linderman in My Bodyguard. Great movie!

@rhino159

R Lee Emmy they forgot he was drill Sgt in “The boys in Company C” Vietnam movie in the 70’s

@barryseal1979

I was a young Marine in 1987 and watched this movie in San Diego, CA i a theater. I had no idea that over the next 20 years I would witness exactly the situations these actors played out. I retired in 2011 after 3 major conflicts.

@tarheelrealist8935

Little known fact....R. Lee Ermey appeared in Apocalypse Now. In Apocalypse Now, Ermey played a Loach pilot during helicopter assault scene.

@jorgevaccari2374

Thanks for the resume of the Life of actors

@jewgirl952

I loved D'Onofrio the most in Mystic Pizza and Stuart Saves His Family, just because I happen to love those movies. But he is one of the best actors I have seen. He can do any type of role.

@gblankster

You all did Matt Modine an injustice by making this video. He has had several leading roles in film, to include "Memphis Bell". Great Actor.

@oldcop18

I went through Navy boot camp in ‘65 and our DI was a guy much like Sgt. Hartman in Full Metal Jacket.

@jorgevaccari2374

Incredibly movie!!!!!!

@michaelodonnell9756

Don't forget about Ronald Lee Ermey's voiceover work during the Toy Story movies. One of those that Arliss Howard was married to was Debra Winger.
