Thank you for making this video Ms. Laquita, it was very helpful. I also have a daughter who is autistic. I want to get into medical coding so that I can work from home. I don't want her having to go to after care at school. I don't trust that she'll be properly looked after there. Thank you for sharing your experience and your wise words of advice. Subscribed :-)

These are the videos people need to see...honest videos. medical coding can be challenging. I started out at Optum, which was not too difficult there because in the beginning we were base coders, so we grabbed all risk adjusted codes, thus building our confidence, then moved to just capturing V24. My training there was top tier. My mentor told me she was so bad at coding she was fired from her first medical coding job. Then I went to a chapter meeting as a CPC-A, I heard that same story a thousand times. LOL It helped me lose the fear of making mistakes because mistakes helped me learn and build my knowledge.

You have a kind personality, your coders are blessed to have you. I can see you teaching an RA course. Have you considered educating?

HAPPY MOTHERS' DAY QUITA! ❤❤❤

Wow that’s so encouraging to hear thank you for sharing! You’re supervisor was so kind to encourage you I have heard of bosses being the opposite to people with low performance but now that you are an auditor it’s good that you are understanding to new coders who were in the similar place as you when you first started! Medical coding can be hard and I’m seeing that through Practicode but I do believe practice makes perfect!

Thank you for sharing the reality of coding business. Great video. I became a new subscriber 😊

Hey girl, I like your videos! I want to be a coder so bad, but I doubt myself because I don't feel smart enough to do the coding.
I want to go to school for coding for I can be in the know about coding. But my fears of not catching on making me so scared.
I know if I put my mind to it, I really can go for it, but this fear is something I'm really trying to deal with at this time.
My husband is so supportive of me. He wants me to start a new career for myself, because this is what I speak about all the time but
get so afraid of failing that I let it STOP me from moving forward with my ideal dream career.
This video really helps me to see that I will make mistake, but I have to keep pushing to succeed. Thanks again for all you do.

@lanaboobooable

Thank you ❤ I'm studying through AAPC for CPC. It's tough, and I'm really hard on myself. I appreciate your words of encouragement.

This was amazing feedback thank you! I am pro fee coder for past 5 years, I still feel like I learn something everyday.

@akferren1

I think I’m walking away since I cannot get a job.. I feel totally defeated

@7yfpath

Thank you for your transparency.

Thank You for your channel. I am not sure if I should complete the workforce development 13 week course two nights a week or a certificate at a CAHIIM community college. If I complete the CAHIIM I can sit for RHIA because I have a bachelor degree. The workforce program is AAPC and CAHIIM is CCS- which would certify me to inpatient and outpatient. Which would you do if you were me?

@heart2heart2023

Hello. Do you mind sharing which service you used as your professional resume writer? I remember hearing you mention that you had one done but I don't think you elaborated on who you chose. Im considering doing this. Thank you

@lovelyshermane8814

Awesome video

@fa6960

I am working as a medical coder. and I am thinking of quitting this career. Balancing productivity and accuracy is hard. Constant change in workflow makes it harder..I am feeling the burnout

@jackiebechtler1624

Did you do self study through AAPC? I'm having a hard time getting started and it's been an entire year.

@phoenixholmes4797

Love this video. I went through the same thing.

@AndreannaJauriqui-sj7ic

Wow, great video. Thank you.

@allidavi5940

I am so frustrated! My coding license is about to expire and I have yet to land a coding job. I can't count how many applications I've put in and resume revisions I've made. It sucks to hear ppl get in with no certifications AND be told on interviews 1. "We are looking for a CPC holder with experience" and/or 2. "We've hired ppl without the certification and they got it paid for by us"... Likeeeeee... what am I doing wrong? I've only had 1 successful-ish interview for a position but the commute from home was too crazy. I'm second guessing if I should've just took it but then I wouldn't have great benefits nor my newborn laying in my arms rn. Where can I get experience? who wants to really train associates and apprentices? I'm hungry for a chance 😭
