We WANT Nerdy. We WANT dorky. We want cabinet members who know what they are doing and don’t have sinister motives.

@deltavega9203

The library conversation reminds me of the quote, "A society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they shall never sit in." societal good.

@yaowsers77

Holy crap, i was able to sit through this entire interview fully engaged. No insulting someone, intelligent conversation, the interviewer is also well spoken and not asking dumb questions. This is so refreshing!

@tmoore4139

Probably the BEST Buttigieg interview I have ever seen. You match him in intelligence and curiosity...what a joy to watch two smart people talk about real issues with humor and grace!

@lisamarlow8408

Everytime I hear an interview with Pete, I feel there is HOPE for the future. He is a true gentleman and seems to know what he talks about. Wish more were like him.
Thank you Hasan for having him on. This was a nice interview. And no one mentioned him who will not be named- how refreshing.

@travisroth

That John Adams quote Pete mentioned:

"I must study politics and war that my sons may have liberty to study mathematics and philosophy. My sons ought to study mathematics and philosophy, geography, natural history, naval architecture, navigation, commerce, and agriculture, in order to give their children a right to study painting, poetry, music, architecture, statuary, tapestry, and porcelain."

@Nia-Allen

I am in my 20s and have never known who our Secretary of Transportation was, Pete Buttigieg HAS COMPLLETELY transformed the role and has actually made our way of life better.

@kendn01

What few people know about Pete is that a year ago he participated in a triathlon - while working full time, and taking care of a family. This says something fundamental about Pete - most of us, if we wanted to get in shape, would join a gym - Pete goes out and commits to training for a triathlon. This man isn't afraid of any challenge, and has enormous ambition. Watch out for this guy, America - this man is going places. And by the way -- he finished the triathlon.

@DentArthurDent68

I think the best way to describe Pete is "mindful". He takes a whole lot of things affecting transportation infrastructure. He's big picture and small picture, he's the whole work of art.

@mztee8107

Has any other Secretary of DOT been so visible? Not! Pete's unique. Bless him.

@24n8

I cannot stop laughing at 0:15 where Pete's face changes as Hasan's joke hits him. Right off the bat, content gold.

@Dee-x9f

This is what good governance looks like. Pete took the DOT appointment, took it seriously, jumped in with both feet, and is not only taking action, but also doing an awesome job of communicating to the American people what DOT is doing with our tax dollars for our benefit. Can you imagine a Trump syncophant appointee in this role?

@exilion1

I found this interview, I’m going to say it - delightful. What a refreshing and candid conversation injected with humor and well thought out Q&A.

Thank you kindly for this.

I’m hopeful Secretary Pete has only just begun as I expect further greatness of him in the future.

@timboz82

I didn't know I needed such a video and conversation, and now I regret it was only 30min long. I could listen to Pete for hours, he's such a great communicator. He's got an amazing future ahead of him in Government, regardless of the role(s) he will have (although President Pete would be pretty amazing).

@baimun

Pete was a fantastic, transformative, Mayor for our city of South Bend Indiana... and we have been so thankful (and proud) that his intelligence and true public service is making such a positive impact nation wide. Hasan... we have been using the South Shore train from the South Bend Airport directly to downtown Chicago (normally a 2 hour drive) and see the potential for US passenger rail.

@JakeDMaier

I love Pete. He's so articulate and intelligent. He is very careful with his words, he's polite, gentle, and inspiring. Make him President in 2028/2032.

@KathyTerpstra-zf6so

He's so good at explaining things and making it easy to understand. Love listening to him. We need more people like this in government who are impressively intellegent and serious about doing his job.

@_CarlosA

Always love to see Pete's interview. Super smart and well spoken. Hope he stays around doing great work in the coming future.

@SouthCountyGal

Forget 1 minute and 20 seconds; Pete made it less than 10 seconds before he started fidgeting. Now we know how he gets so much done in a day!

Great interview!
