How does AI benefit the process of automating different types of tasks that this seems to be doing versus just normal context automation that has been around for decades at this point? Or am I completely misunderstanding what this is used for?

MCP is a totally failure to me at the moment. Can’t decide when to connect or what to do with it. Mostly telling me to do what it can do via MCP. Acting like it’s in chat mode while we are in the agent mode. Mostly responding with “sorry I can’t do that, but you can do it like this”

MCPs are like when openai releasted the GPTs store. not a single one of them seems useful, just a bunch of gimmicks. agents can already utilize cli.
