So, I was born in Chicago and raised in Uptown. I used to listen to House music and do my homework. I'm now fifty-three years old, and I'm still listening to House music.

@wadeadams7909

Most people don’t realize House music came from Chicago. Most can’t distinguish what is real House music. Truly, each city has its style of music. Real Hip hop comes from NYC, real House music comes from Chicago.

@NB-rv2yz

My god. This music brings back memories from parties all over Chicago in the 80s and 90s. Westside, northside and southside, you could party back then and leave the clubs at 5am in the morning and get breakfast with your party crew.

That was the days. Memories forever.

@joelcastellanos8170

House music til we die. Been here since the 70s and it is embedded in our DNA. Original house music is better imo.

@andredeleu3688

Chicago the city ❀,.. and Oldschool /acid house as well πŸ˜‚

@ChicagoDruid

Chicago and House music are together like peanut butter and jelly intermingled for ever... sure New York had their clubs and well known DJ's... but the roots were all Chicago...Im a true Househead from way back and now in Seattle I play my old mixes and the young people say what is that I say its house music..Its Chicago Home Grown....

@JasonWW.

Chicagoan from Lake View. This music is deep to me and I want everyone to know that we love that House originated here.

@cyberlycans4191

For everyone commenting on how awesome this mix is and thanking whoever did it, let me remind you that this mix is literally 34 years old. I was bumping this in 1986... what it opens with, the mystery of love, it's from 1986 and Kanye saw fit to use it in a rap about four years ago and people lost their minds. I have played house music from 1985 for friends who thought that it was a new song at the time, this shit is timeless and effortless... from Chicago East to Detroit then into New York New Jersey and over into Europe, birthplace on the southside of Chicago

@ardypangihutan3653

Partying in 80s Chicago must've been a life-changing experience.

@Rpc-sy1pc

@joeyhazell2643

Chicago house was always the best in all house music , why? And I'm a 81 baby , Toronto in the house.πŸ˜‰πŸ‘ŠπŸ˜œ

@hectorcortez8766

Howard University had a decent "House Music" Scene from 1990-1996. The Chicago, Illinois Students helped make the dance music more popular!

There was a popular club in Washington DC. The Ritz attracted Howard University Students. Georgetown University ( mostly afro-american) and Catholic University ( mostly afro-american) Students had a presence!

@stinka4079

Chicago native here... I remember the Hot Mix 5 on WBMX on Friday nights.... I live in Minnesota now, but I miss my city.
