I like the idea of listing the tarriffs tax next prices. It brings transparency to why the price increases on a product. If it's because of tarriffs, if it's just a normal price increase, or if the company is shady and taking money for tarriffs when the product doesn't have one.

10:40 a 1/3 lb burger didn't sell well in the U.S. because people thought it was smaller than a quarter-pounder, so I can't really argue with AMD here.

"Fully" intensifies "thrusting it in"
Dude, this had me rolling. That subtle sound effect in the edit was too perfect!

Is it just me or does Amazon feel like the “Buy-N-Large” from Wall-e

Brett's audition tape for doctor doom was unexpected this morning

@GonnerMeLeggies

Intel is really leaning into the fantasy naming scheme, since it seems every new class needs experience before it levels up

One of the basic tenants of research is informed consent. This research was unethical on that grounds. The users could not consent to that "research", a term that I use with all of the eye rolling and all of the air quotes I can muster.
I would not be surprised if they were brought in front of an ethics tribunal at their university, at a minimum.

@JuanDi_SDK

Regarding how Amazon was proposing displaying tarifs... in Amazon Mexico, all products sold by foreign businesses already show import fees and have done so since I can remember. Amazon categorizes it as a deposit in the price breakdown and I can confirm that I've gotten refunds of a few cents multiple times with an Amazon notification about how the import tariff was lower than originaly calculated.

The fact that Amazon US doesn't already do this is weird to me

@apefu

I don't get being but hurt by an explicit detailed tariff cost on goods. That and other costs should be declared. It would be great to see a representation of all that on prices EVERYWHERE.

@jefflukey123

I believe they reacted like that to the researchers because they don’t want their own practices using AI to boost numbers being exposed.

Bro. The discussion about the point of gaming was all the way spot on.

those cables are so insanely stupid, 4x8 pin would not be that bad, those cards are gargantuan already

@jcarman

Hughesnet/Viasat are both fundamentally different in the sense that they are geosynchronous satellite providers. The satellite fleet is significantly smaller, and upwards of 20x further away than Starlink/Kuiper which are both low earth orbit. This causes Hughesnet and Viasat to have significantly higher latency (600-700ms) and lower bandwidth as well. Starlink and Kuiper will both feature latency generally about on par with cellular (less than 60ms). Starlink and Kuiper are the way forward, for sure.

MSI chose Nvidia over AMD look where it brought them.

@OneLevin

Bundles never have the ability to shed as much heat per strand. When coupled together with some other factors, such as the circuit is made of 6 pairs of parallel connections load balancing should be implemented. There is no load balancing, when some strands are disconnected or not connected well, the amount of heat and current is more than each working strand can deal with.

The fact that that $900 MacBook on sale has as much storage as my $200 tablet is insane
