@hmpm01

I'm Brazilian and I see Nick's videos to enhance my listening skills in English. He speaks so fast then I feel confident to try understand anyone else.

@mamabear162

I'm decorating my condo in "Old Lady Art Nouveau". Still need a couple more cats to make it complete.

@julieswinburne1270

We liived on a farm when i was a kid. Worn lino, torn wallpaper and mismatched curtains. Afghan blankets thrown over chairs and sofas, most of which had broken springs and frayed upholstery. No word 'art'. Faint aromas of manure wafting in from the nearby barn. Layers of dried mud and dog footprints everywhere. Not at all the super hygenic, mass produced and coordinated look of 'Farmhouse style'. Nick, you're absolutely right.

@darladellana4961

I love that you use the word crap. Sometimes it's the only accurate word.

@gwynyvyr

I have been through most of these styles in my life. At 68 now, I am decorating my bedroom in a new style. I call it "Evil Disney Princess" . It suits me.

@dwp2659

i'm rolling with 80's trailer park...

@daledarling11

I’m in year 60 of leaning hard into the growing dark academia trend - too many bookshelves, half empty tea cups on side tables. Weird lace curtains. Also, cats. If you wait it out, you will become the fashion!πŸ˜‚

@stellacalder5023

(un?)popular opinion: if your house fits cleanly into just one design style, it looks too generic and "showroom" regardless of what that style is.

@victorialove9104

My home is a mix of so many styles. I inherited my childhood home and all my parent's furniture. They lived there for over 50 years. So we have art deco, MCM, traditional mahogany furniture, some 70s, and I brought in more modern touches. Somehow it all works beautifully together. I love it.❀

@susanalexander7990

Modern farmhouse is for people who think farms are charming and fun and whimsical when the truth is they are dirty and demanding and a lot of work. I know, I live on one.

@BandileNzimande

The determination to EMAIL a stranger about their use of the word β€œcrapβ€πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ my goodness

@pamelachristie5570

Wow! From Hobby Lobby to wabi sabi in just over 20 minutes! Well done, you! Dad was in the merchant marine in the 50s and brought home tons of Japanese stuff: furniture, ceramics, block prints; anything that was shippable. We grew up surrounded by Japanese elegance, combined with touches of Frank Lloyd Wright and California Arts & Crafts. Most of our visitors didn't get it, but my dad's family, all artists of one kind or another, took to the Japanese aesthetic at once. As kids, my siblings, cousins and I were very conscious of our family's style (Our grandparents', aunts' and uncles' houses all had Japanese elements) vs. that of everyone else we knew. Of the 10 styles covered, Zen is my #1. Thanks for posting this!

@dudswoo

Art Deco is so glamorous that I expect to see Fred and Ginger dancing in those rooms, and I feel underdressed.

@saharabraham4338

I really enjoy your dark and direct humor πŸ˜‚ it is very entertaining

@N.O723

I personally love new traditional because I feel like alot of the elements in that style are timeless and it can still be very personal

@keylime2998

I love the mix of mid century & art deco & Scandi. I love the warmth of darker woods and flat shaped in mid century. Mixed with the lightness of Scandi walls and lighter, brighter elements & art deco shapes & luxe textures.

@FumblesAndFlagons

I'd LOVE to watch a long video with you diving into the history of designs and styles. 10-20 minutes of learning about the history of Zen style would be such a good watch!

@kaiwindingwest

i love that there are so many styles for people to express how they live. whether they are 'popular' or not might be less relevant than if they suit each persons lifestyle and personality.

@kristinapreedy7069

This list confirms why I love your videos - we have similar tastes. I may not have totally agreed with the entire list, but pretty darn close. I would like to see Arts and Crafts/Mission/Craftsman (or is that not a style?) on the list too as that’s one of my favorites (although, just like MCM, I want to use it in conjunction with another style or two, not β€œall-in”). Great video!

@artemiswilde7528

Nick Lewis Quote of the Week: "Classic modern farmhouse style just feels very suburban... it completely lacks the context of actually a real farmhouse, you know, where people do things like with chickens... you know "Farm Stuff" - planting seeds...ploughing fields. No-one's doing that in this style house". Bullseye again Nick! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
