The "Alabama Gang" from Ropers Rockin' Country in Hoover, Al---the mid-90s was for real, and a big group of us went from the bar to the competition floor and scattered across various dance styles throughout the years. Rex's four wheeler was stored at my parent's basement....Tennis....he was my pro when I was a kid......told me I had to come out to this country bar and start dancing...... The VHS tapes of all of us learning techniques from all of our first days were a bit on the ugly side (I still have them!)....but we all turned out alright in the end!!! We all would watch hours of UCWDC and US Open Swing VHS tapes....literally wore them out!
