Gen 1 is good enough for any website without necessity of very interactive needs. Gen 1.5 is the best balanced solution. Gen 2 was exploration of a new possible solution in some niche use cases. Gen 2.5 is the refuse to getting out of the rabbit hole.

I think im showing my age but Gen 2.5 seems like a vanity project to me. I assume its an SEO thing but honestly what a load of extra work for a tenth of a secons improvement

Build a simple Web app with no frameworks and it forces you to pick one of these methods which teaches you a lot. You will see why some of them were invented and what problems they were trying to solve
