Best video on weird timing song starts I've ever seen/heard. So well done and fun and such a kind approach. So many good methods to "rehear it" and forget how I was trying to count it which over and over wasn't working. Thanks!!!!!

@GetStrumming

Best video I have ever seen on this topic. Thank you so much. 45 years and I’ve now got it!πŸ€£πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»

@tchernas

Perfect way to get it: beat by beat. Thanks for the lesson!

@rie040656

Thank you for showing me the correct intro info of "Drive My Car" ! Not only for me as a drummer. also for bass en guitar ! Just amasing how these guys can write this kind of intro !

@jotgarrott3272

Gaaah that's so much more bluesy! I've always heard the first note on beat 2 and then been baffled.

@studiotwo

Genius! I just couldn't get this at all until I got to 2:50 in your video. You are spot on about not being able to "unhear" something.

@kevinmoore4237

Like the song itself, this is a perfect video in every way - funny but not gimmicky - gets to the point immediately - covers the equally-disorienting-but-super-cool bass and drum entrances as well - hits the issue from every angle - great playing. I love the bit where you build it, chunk by chunk, in time. This is how to do it, youtube. Liked & subscribed.

Many thanks ,as a struggling old drummer I find this very useful

@davidscharff726

Amazingly clear explanation on a song that I’ve been wrong about for decades. Thanks!

@alexkuzmenko8958

I always thought that the accent was on the third note thus it was the 1 in counting. But definitely now I realize that the accent is on the second note. Thank you.

@deantodd5042

There are several videos on this intro. I think this one is the best at getting you to do it correctly via repetition. I WOULD point out that since the Beatles did not produce their own sheet music, the counting is a matter of feel. I agree with the way you have it laid out, 4-AND. Please look at (I'm NOT being a wise guy here) the horn riff at the beginning of Till Eulenspiegel's lustige Streiche by Richard Strauss. It is the EXACT same issue with hearing it wrong. I always heard this as starting on the downbeat but the score is by the composer, so you KNOW that he meant it not to be so.

@boumbastik

Thank you so much.

@TheDailyVinyl

OMG. yes! I love that you acknowledge how hard it is to un-hear, what is basically hard-wired into the brain. Subscribed and will be looking for others on your channel.

@GaiL68soad

Oh yeah! πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

@diggmo

Brilliant! Thank you!

@Roger-f8u3n

OMG! I heard it wrong for so many years. Thanks a lot.

@plasteckfly
