I first saw one at the Overloon tank museum. My first thought was "Why is there a ship in here!". And after careful examination, I concluded. "Oh, the army parked a ship in here"
I do NOT wanna be the guy refueling this thing.
In service for 50 years and retired in 2001... I wish they replaced them with a modern design. Coming ashore in a breaking sea is big. Glad a few are still operational.
Driver: 😊 Maintenance and refueling crew: 💀
"So this gets 10 miles per gallon, thats honestly better than I expected." --"Hah! No it's 10 gallons per mile, buddy!"
The PMCS alone for this monster would’ve made me walk away
How have these not been in a video game of some kind? These things are magnificent, i want one
Reminds me a lot of the antarctic crawler, I wonder how similar they actually were
I saw this one in a museum. Each wheel literally has its own engine
First time I saw one was when it was bearing down on me on a beach trail at a military base in VA. I had to dive back into the brush to keep from getting crushed. The next day I saw one getting an engine replacement in a hanger.
That’s a lot of troops packed into a big slow target.
I ride this one as a ferry in Alaska
We have one at the Overloon museum in the Netherlands 🇳🇱
There is one abandoned in Alvin Tx in some old complex
There is one at the "Military Museum of North Florida" in Green Cove Springs, Florida.
This is something that Supercell can add to Boombeach
Lane motor museum in Nashville Tn has 1 they used to crush cars with it (that I would haul away)until they cut a tire down they are great people & have ALOT of vehicles that are super rare as in a car that has a wooden airplane propeller on the front that powers the car I hugly suggest if you haven't been there to go check it out it actually cost the owner to have it open but he said he wants the world to be able to see the vehicles
i live in nashville and the lane motor museum has one sitting outside. they have a minivan crushed to around 6 inches, courtesy of the larc. i really recommend going to lane motor museum, they have some really historic vehicles in the main room and in the vault, including the larc.
They used to have these at Ft Eustis, VA in the 60's and 70's. They had hoover crafts and boat as will.
