For everyone who says it is uncomfortable, I think this kind of places are more suitable for business talk between two or more people who are actively discussing. For people who are looking for casual hangout, there are places where you can grill and cook food yourself and chat freely. But this is just not it.
I am Japanese, but reading the comments, I can understand the cultural differences. Not only at this restaurant, but at any restaurant that serves sukiyaki, you can choose to do it yourself or leave it to the waiter. Sukiyaki is always cooked in a controlled manner so that the beef is thin and not overcooked. So, in general, you leave the cooking to the waiter, who will serve you the best possible quality and sometimes chat with the waiter while you eat. Please do not think that the video on Youtube is the whole experience. The price, by the way, is not much different from that of a steak because it is a rare specific part of Wagyu beef. If you lower the quality of the meat, you can get a more reasonable price, and this kind of price is only for special occasions such as anniversaries.
I really dislike places where the staff cooks your food at your table, like, I don't know what to do with myself the whole time so I just awkwardly sit there and wait for them to be done.
Hi! I enjoyed your channel. I started watching 3-4 years ago when I had struggles with eating. I wanted to eat but nobody to eat with or my experience felt too boring so I watched you guys enjoy your food while I enjoyed mine. It made me feel less alone! Thank you for posting these videos!
I love her little dance when the food is REALLY good.
It’s an odd but great mixture of cozy, quiet, awkward, and relaxing. The food looks really really good :3
Paying that sort of money, I really appreciate how this place cares about their presentation even with just the raw food coming to your table. How the server takes care and attention when they prepare your food, they really take care of you and care about you leaving feeling satisfied! Everything is so elegantly and thoughtfully prepped and you are served in a way that your bowl is never over-filled. So wholesome!
I went to Japan, back in 89 and stayed with our exchange students' family. I believe she had stayed with our family the year before. So it was me and my mother that went. They had a HUGE family but the father was not there. Not sure what happened. I digress. One of the dinners we had was shabu shabu....and it doesn't take long at all for that to cook. I remember they told us, we are to dance it around the pot with our chopsticks (which I never really learned how to use) and say shabu shabu, a couple times and it was done. WAS REALLY GOOD. I was 9 years. Was a pretty neat experience for a 9 year old American to see all the different culture. :)
I love your videos! I can't eat very much bc of health problems, so watching these helps me a lot. Your videos are the only thing I can stand watching. Every other YouTuber who makes videos of this genre always have too much eating sounds going on! All the peace and quiet in your videos are what make you so good. Thank you so much for doing what you do!
It's delightful to see a chef show off their culinary skills to the guests. It would be an experience worth admiring and appreciating their service.
I love that Dancing Bacons goes to so many different kinds of places to eat. This would never be my choice of place to eat for a lot of reasons, but it's really interesting to get to experience it through the eyes of DB. I'm often skeptical about high priced restaurants but it seemed like this was worth it if you like this style of cooking and eating.
Perfect timing! I’m about to eat lunch so now it can feel like I am having lunch with you guys.
Now that's what I call, a once in a lifetime relaxing hotpot experience.
When Miss Shander did her happy dance upon tasting the shabu shabu, it was so cute! She looked ready to cry, she was so happy. If I could afford something like this, I'd do it to enjoy the experience whenever I'm able to next go to Japan.
What i love about these videos are that their soo relaxing and the only sounds you hear are background noises or just general chitchatting in the back, their so nice to have playing on my TV when I’m working on something. Watching it feels like I’m there too, quietly enjoying a lovely meal whether its from a convenience store or a high end resturants. Its all so soothing, Thank you both for making these wonderful videos
This is a funny concept to me. Hot pot, something that has always seemed so personal, being done for you. Yet, when it's that expensive, I'd also prefer someone do it for me so I don't screw up.
Personally, I would feel so uncomfortable at this restaurant with someone sitting there and cooking for my husband and I. Please just leave us alone to chat and eat. Lol. Love all your fantastic videos!
absolutely lovely, skilled hospitality. i love watching people prepare my food as someone with a lot of illness causing sensitivity to many common ingredients, and these portions would be perfect for me, personally. what a relaxing, fascinating experience
Honestly, just watching you have Hotpots made me fall in love with them. I really like this culture and I find hotpots facenating.
