Just came here to leave a Thank you! With this video I learned:
1. How to upload a dataset in R
2. the Tidy Thursday GitHub with a bunch of datasets I can practice on
3. the build-in R datasets
4. how to get info on the datasets or about an R function
5. how to get a glimpse of my dataset
6. how to choose specific rows/ create groups based on an argument (the filter command)
7. how to modify a dataset (add a column or change one with the mutate command)
8. the super useful %>%
9. the layering power of ggplot
10. and finally, communicating my results using R-Markdown
Now, I have my pointers and I need to practice!

"If you can't explain it to a six-year-old, you don't understand it yourself" - Attributed to Albert Einstein.

Your deep understanding of the language clearly shows your competence in simplifying it and making this video very enjoyable to watch and comprehend. Thanks to you Andrew, now I'm determined to being an expert in R 🙂

@chibz92

I'm sure every one here has already thanked you, but I''m going to do so as well. This was very helpful and an excellent introduction. Much appreciated!

@АндрейПозняков-ч7р

If you watch at x2 speed you will learn R in 19 minutes

@sebnemserasahinli4783

This has been the best and most compact R beginner course that I have encountered; everything becomes so doable when you can learn from someone who has great teaching abilities! Thank you so much for that and will follow your other videos!

@mackwhitney965

Thanks Andrew! My very first engagement with R and it was a perfect intro. I am left with exactly what I wanted - a good understanding of what R is and how to use it. And that with zero boredom or confusion. Having just wanted to get a peek at what R is out of curiosity, I am inspired to download an environment and use it. You absolutely nailed it. Thanks again!

@amitbhaskar1765

These 39 min can teach you way better and more than many multi-hour long tutorials on YT. Thanks.. Simplicity is the ultimate beauty.

@officespace123

i've watched a handful of R tutorial videos as i'm just getting started - most of those left me wanting to leave R alone and stick with excel - yours was very clear and incredibly useful and convinced me it's worth my persevering with R after all - many thanks

@KKmovesToMars

Andrew! thank you! 40 minutes with you has helped me more than an entire course from IBM. I was ready to give up on R, but after watching this, I am back in the game! thank you thank you thank you! such a great video.

@ankerrigan

I'm doing a fast-tracked version of the Google Data Analytics certificate course and felt so completely stumped by R. This one video taught me more R than that whole course did, thank you a thousand times over for making it (and this whole channel)!

@aliamccarthy980

First of all, thank you for this video. While i was arguing with one of my dc friends we threw each other tons of insults but nothing hit more than hearing "YoU'vE nEvEr eVeN HEaRd of R bEfOrE?! You KnoW wHat, PYTHON is eNouGh fOr yOu."
After that i got so mad aaand we don't talk anymore ofc but my point is i felt like I should know R even though I'm not studying on data analysis. (ex-friend's department is economy and he tried to insult me who already code in c++ & python and candidate of a genetics engineer... Life's though :body-blue-raised-arms:) Anyway long story short, with this video I learned a lot of quality information with pleasure and kinda get my inner-revenge.😇

@odins_claw

Dude! Dude, this was awesome. You have an incredibly intuitive way of explaning and simplifying.

@angelrodriguezmackenzie7295

Got assigned some basic training from work in coursera, but I had already seen this tutorial. I learned more by actively following and practicing with your video than the 10 hour coursera modules. You did amazing work!

@citruscyanide

Ok. So I didn't know I needed this progam. But I've heard that this program is good for working with stats.

It took me to 32:22, and then i realised that i absolutely need to learn to work with this program. Fantastic tutorial.

@keepcalmmiilii

This video was extremely helpful. I am a visual learner and I'm also learning R for the first time. I was so scared I wont succeed in this course. Although this is just the beginning, you provided me with a great foundation. I can't wait to learn more.

@JEdgarMihelic

Very nice introduction, thank you.

@paulobarrosbio

This is just one of the most light and informative R introduction videos I've seen so far. Really well done, gave me a lot of inspiration and I've picked up a lot of great tips to teach R from now on. Amazing video. Thank you for sharing!

@yellowkie

Watched so many other videos on R, but none of them explained things as clearly and simply as this one. This is the first time I truly understood the concept. Thanks Much!

@mstonua

Fantastic introduction and explanations of shortcuts and details of R - thank you. Good stuff 👍🏾
