👉🌍We had an excellent opportunity to interview Kathleen Booth in the latest Silicon Valley Tech Talks episode. Kathleen is Senior Vice President at Pavilion, a global community of 10,000+ Go-To-Market executives. Before Pavilion, she was CEO and founder of the global marketing agency Quitain Marketing. Kathleen was named by TopRank among the top 50 marketing influencers and by USA Today among the top 6 global marketing advisors who are rising stars.
This interview is an excellent resource for anyone who wants to learn about the trajectory of marketing and GTM in the recent past and how it's shaping up with the surge of AI. The main highlights of the interview are the following:
(1) GTM is critical for product success. However, many products fail due to ineffective GTM strategy. Katheleen enlightened us on common pitfalls to avoid in a GTM strategy.
(2) AI already impacts marketing and GTM like any other space. We discussed some exciting applications (including digital humans). While the possibilities of using AI in marketing and GTM are endless, Kathleen believed that the industry is currently suffering from a 'failure of imagination' to explore the true potential of AI.
(3) Digital Marketing has traditionally been a B2C play. However, the marketing landscape has changed in the last two years. B2B marketers are using some of the techniques of B2C marketers. Kathleen had some fascinating insights on this phenomenon.
(4) "You might not lose your job to AI, but you might lose your job to someone who knows AI." Kathleen shared this excellent quote as she discussed innovation opportunities for new entrepreneurs, technologies, and students.
