Can Dickens be redeemed? I give him another shot with Great Expectations, for which I had NO expectations of liking. Dickens ends up making me cry but probably not because of why you'd think! It sure caught me by surprise!

Come along with me while I read Great Expectations and catch some feels for characters who are incredibly charming. The story of a poor boy with a mysterious benefactor who is insistent on raising his status in the world.... Will he become a gentleman? Is he destined for the beautiful but haughty Estella? What will these incredible fortunes to do his very nature as he moves from the rural countryside to London's higher society?

Dickens paints a dreary city in gray misty swirls with sparks of color and humor throughout.

And find out if I finally love Charles Dickens or if I write him off forever!
