
Port Knocking (Network Security Technique) Explained and Demoed in 5 Minutes!
Port knocking is "a method of externally opening ports on a firewall by generating a connection attempt on a set of prespecified closed ports." (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Port_kn.... It is the digital equivalent of the secret knock you had growing up to grant access to your treehouse.
In this video, I explain why port knocking is important, how it works, and then run a demonstration in which I show opening and closing the port running a python webserver to show the resulting system behavior.
Also, I just got a green screen and am still figuring out the lighting and settings... but its super fun -- hopefully you enjoyed the intro!
